Which cell phone would you choose?

Edit: Moved over from the Everything fourm. My mistake! ^^;

Its that time again when every 2 years you get to pick a new phone and annul that old marriage to your cell phone company. Since I'm still on my parents plan (too lazy to get my own), I really don't get too much choice in where we switch to, so they've decided to go back to T-mobile. (Thoughts?)

But with that, comes the fact that now my phone is out-dated and won't work with them. So, my question to my fellow gamers is:

1: What phone do you have? Do you like it?

and

2: From the links below, if you had to pick one from the list, what would you choose?

I'm indecisive, I don't care too terribly much about the features, but I'd rather trust other people besides some person who gets paid to sell me the most expensive phone they have. Currently I have some LG VX-xxx (Model number i can't remember, and it's not listed on the outside) But for your entertainment. I've posted it here.

I'm interested to see what the most popular one people carry is.

Thanks!

I'm interested in seeing the comments as well. Its re-up time for me too. I have been happy with Verizon for the last 5 years or so and will probably remain with them. I'd go for an iPhone if it wasn't on AT&T. Purchased my wife a red KRAZR for Valentine's and I am leaning that way right now. The Chocolates have some appeal but have never had a candybar, just flip phones; how does the screen hold up to being in a pocket and such. I rarely, if ever, text, so the slide out keyboard models don't have much appeal to me. And believe or not, I primarily use my phone to make phone calls. So sound quality, features like speakerphone, , bluetooth, ease of call log, &c. are more important to me than, say, an mp3 player, web browser or live TV. Still, I'm a slave to fashion and its got to look good as well.

Any suggestions?

I use the T-Mobile SDA (HTC Tornado) and it's pretty good at everything I currently want; namely it fits in my pocket, good call quality, has Outlook calendar sync, and a Bluetooth handsfree profile so it integrates with my car. Can't really suggest a phone from the list for you though unless you describe what it is you want from one.

I have a Sony Ericsson K750i. I really like it. It has a great camera, syncs with outlook for appointments and things and the battery lasts ~3 days.

I recently switched from Verizon to a pre-paid plan from AT&T because with pre-paid I can keep track of what I'm spending and I'm not locked into a carrier. I hate being contractually obligated to use someone's service so I just bought an unlocked phone from Mobile City Online. They're a great retailer that Guru turned me onto. Unlocked phones are really the way to go, I received all the accessories with my phone, stereo headset, memory card, car charger, EU charger, the works.

Now if I could just stop losing them...

I'm not with T-Mobile - I have a Samsung Blackjack through AT&T. It's a Windows Smartphone that does stuff like browsing mobile.gamerswithjobs.com. It's basically like a Blackberry that isn't so dang fat that it bloats your pocket; it comes with two different batteries, the larger of which still has a nice slim form factor.

Hmm. Features, I guess if I really had to choose, it's more on the sound quality than anything else. I don't care so much about having a camera phone, or web browsing capabilities. I don't drive, so (woo light-rail) blue-tooth isn't much importance either. So I guess in the end, if It can do fancy ring tones and hold a cell phone charm, that would please me to the end. I've heard that the Razr is a good phone, but i've also heard that it can break easily, as that was one recommendation.

I have a RAZR, sounds like what you are looking for. Sound quality is great, and the reception is top notch. The interface does leave a bit to be desired, but since I wanted a good phone above anything else its easy to let that slide.

As for being fragile, mine has bounced quite a few times with no issues. AND I just got back from a river trip in which the thing spent at least 5 hours in a compromised ziploc bag (1/2" of water). Thought it was a goner for sure, but amazingly it still works.

A phone that lived through water? I'd say that was pretty convincing. My phone before this one didn't even last ten seconds in water when it accidentally got knocked into it... Thank you so much, everyone, for your input so far it's really helped me get a few ideas.

If you just want a phone, I would go with the RAZR also, since it is a nice form factor, flip style and semi-rugged.

The software that Verizon puts on the Razr is terrible. The other companies use better stuff though and as far as real phone use goes it's really nice. Voice quality is good and the battery life has been great.

My Razr's survived multiple hits on the concrete floor here at work, including one from about ten feet up. I was knelt down on a conveyer belt to work on the motor and when I leaned over it slid out of my shirt pocket and hit the floor far below.

Still works great. Blew me away.

I'm still shocked about the water story though. I lost my previous cellphone to the sink in my bathroom. Much like the work story above I leaned over and it slid right into six inches of water in the sink. The screen went blank instantly.

I'm looking for a new phone too. Except I'm going from Sprint(sucktacular reception for most of my daily life) to Verizon, and have been dithering between wanting to get a Chocolate for the built-in music player and the RAZR for the low low price of about $20, depending on who's having a sale this week.

I have a Sony-Ericcson W300i phone. I like it, though the "Walkman" interface isn't the best. The only downside is the camera really bites - I've found the camera far more useful than I could have possibly imagined when I first bought it. 0.3Mpix and pretty grainy.

Audio's good, battery life could be better. Included headphones were nice. Weird memory card slot, though.

If you get the Razr don't get the V3m model. All of it's data transfer features are neutered by the software Verizon puts on it. You can't do anything with it on your computer except charge it. And you even need to download a driver for just that.

I ended up getting the regular Razr that wasn't the newer, thinner version and it's.. >_> well nice. I've never had such good phone call quality!

Great phone for what you want. You can load MP3's on it, and use them as ringtones. Its pretty compact, and has a nice camera on it, even if you don't plan on using it. Plus, it slides. That can entertain you for hours!
