Gametrailers' Final Fantasy Retrospective

They say it's divided into 13 parts. One for each official Roman numeral release probably, but the first one is going to be the most interesting. I always wondered what was so special about the first FF that an entire franchise could spawn out of it.

Well now I'm filled with the urge to find a copy of, and play FF1 again. Damnit.
Time to get Dawn of Souls and a DS together..

I thoroughly enjoyed replaying FF1 in the Dawn of Souls remake on the GBA.
Part 1 was definitely worth a watch. It's amazing how far the games have come since the original. I just finished (and by "finished" I mean "decided to stop playing") FFIII on the DS. The production values were great, but the underlying game mechanics are just feeling a little old now. So, I started up the GBA port of FFVI and was happy to find that it has aged very well.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the Game Trailers features on the series. It looks like they'll do a pretty good job on them.

I'm liking their Metroid retrospective a bit better, but these are always great. Hope it becomes a trend!

Frankly, if it weren't for the tedium of the draw system, I'd still find it lots of fun to replay like the others. That's the main thing that makes replaying it tough; I did my time Drawing magic over and over already, I don't want to do that again. I love the game otherwise, warts and all.
I liked eight alot too, but the draw system was an aweful aweful idea.
After hearing the latest podcast, I fear rabbit's wrath should I suggest he hates the Japanese.
