Anyone thought about returning to Crackdown?
Wednesday, July 11th, 2007 - 1:21pm
I was thinking about this last night. I was kind of annoyed by a really bad Live experience playing NBA 2k7 and wishing for a good SP or coop game to retreat to. Anyone gone back to playing this or thought about it? Were you about to get back into it? Asking because I sold my copy. Thinking of getting it or Oblivion.

I'd like to get back into it as I (stupidly) bought the DLC and have barely touched it. I also wanted to get all my stats maxed out and have just a bit of agility and a lot of driving to do. If anyone wants to do some co-op, let me know and I'll hop in with you.

I also stupidly bought the online content just in time to get distracted by the Halo 3 beta and lose all interest in Crackdown.
We'll see. If I pick it up again, maybe I'll take you up on the coop.

There's no way I would take a second run-through of Crackdown over Oblivion.

You have to believe, we are magic.
Has anyone thought about drinking milk? I finished drinking my milk, and I'm out now. I'm thinking maybe I'll buy some milk again after I had a bad run-in with some orange juice. Thinking of getting that or Fresca.
Really though, Oblivion. I wonder if the places you trade games in to just set them aside until you return to re-buy them a month later

My copy is in the mail, thanks to a fellow goodjer for selling me his copy. I should start playing it this weekend.

All kidding aside, I never bought Oblivion. I've just pondered it a lot. My game store USED to do that, though.
Setting aside games. Now, not really. I rarely swap games since I got the 360.
I think the question is legit either way. I'm curious not only if the game has legs if you revisit it, but if there will be opportunities for coop down the road. i.e. Are other Goodjers playing it again.

Crackdown meets the qualifications of games I tend to keep instead of tossing to the bin:
a) Once completed it is fun to just pick up and goof around with.
b) Massive amounts of visceral exploding eye candy and gratuitous violence.
I consider it more akin to games like Splatterhouse and Metal Slug than Oblivion.

I'm pretty much guaranteed to be open to playing almost any game I buy for like years after it's release. I'm very slow to finish games partly due to my limited gaming time and partly due to my laziness. And for whatever reason I just never sell back games - I guess it's my pack rat nature. As a result I have no problem with playing old games after everyone has moved on.
So yea, I have Crackdown still, didn't finish it and frequently look at it on the shelf thinking "Hey, I should pop that in again soon". Plus I never hooked up with anyone for Co-Op which is the real payoff for the game.

I only rented Crackdown when it just came out and now I bought it nice and cheap, so I'd kind of like to play through it with some people.

Let me know man. I can help you out with quests and get my stats up in the process.

Personally, only when its direct from the oogaba... err source, or in my coffee.
I still havent finished Crackdown, those Shaigen are still awaiting death. Never had a chance to play co-op either. I'd be game for some Crackdown as long as it doesnt conflict with...
... dun dun duuuuun ... a Gears match. : )

I still love Crackdown, but haven't played it in awhile. I'm not quite maxed on my stats either. I'll play if someone feels the itch...

Never finished it, although I had a good time when I was playing.
Also, I love milk. Skim, please.

Yes, I have been informed by a friend of mine that it is merely white water. In college, I had to choose between 2%, which to my taste (I was raised on 1/2%) is nearly Whole, or Skim. I chose skim, and after a while it became totally natural.

I went back to Crackdown once. My brother bought a 360 and we both played through the missions.
I dunno. I'm still really mixed on the game, but it can be a total riot when playing co-op. If you approach it as a traditional game, I can't see how you wouldn't be let down, but there really is a lot to explore in the game.
I don't think I'll be playing it again anytime soon, however. Two different agents is more than enough for me right now.

I also have it, and only got about 1/3 through before being distracted by something new and shiny. Never played co-op, but I'd give it a try.

I hate the secondary market so I rarely trade games. Crackdown to me still has legs, it may sit on the shelf of shame - but it still has legs!

Every time I see one of these threads, I first think it is talking about the old Sega game:

I loved that game. The Genesis port for that was very good, too.

I love Oblivion and still pick it up from time to time, but Oblivion is a rather large time commitment the first time through, and considering that from now until the end of the year a highly anticipated game is scheduled to be released about every two weeks do you really have enough time get into Oblivion?
