De-Animator
Dr. Herbert West's well-meaning medical experiments have taken a turn for the worse, and now he's faced with a few more zombies than he can manage. It's time to thin the herd. The good doctor sets aside the tools of his profession for a pair better suited to the task at hand: revolver and shotgun.

This week's Act Casual selection is De-Animator, a creepy little one-trick pony of a game that despite its simplicity doesn't fail to entertain. Based on an H.P. Lovecraft tale, it relies on the time-honored gaming traditions of avoiding and eliminating the undead. Not well-suited for the faint of heart, but ideal for the numbed of mind. In other words, a great workplace time-killer, at least for a spell. You may want to turn down the volume.
The controls are simple and straightforward: pick your targets with the mouse cursor, click to fire. To toggle the shotgun (once you've found it), use the Shift key. You'll need it.

Seems like some of the zombies let the bullets pass right through.
I am using FF for my browser

Woot!, it's a lifestyle!
Yah, I don't get it, most of the bullets go right through the zombies. The most I was able to kill was 2 before I was taken out. I also use FF.
Hmmm, works fine in IE.
Don't see a comment like that too often.

As the post now indicates, use the mouse cursor to target. Don't just use it to select the angle of fire. In other words, put the cursor directly over the zombies/zombie body parts you want to shoot.

Also, you'll one-shot them if you can hit them before they stand

That's a cute little time waster.

I've found that clicking directly on the zombie you are shooting at is what causes you to hit. If you just fire wildly then you have a high miss rate. I had the same problems at first, only getting 5 before getting torn apart, but once I figured out how to aim I zoomed through.

I got to stage 5. Shooting them as they're climbing out works really well.

Love the looks. Nice game.

I think 107 is my best.
This has inspired me to get out Crimsonland again. Probably my favorite zombie-shooting time-waster.

ZombieGrinder2000 is very much along the same lines and kind of neat, if a little obnoxious. Zombie Romp is also an entertaining distraction.
Boxhead: More Rooms takes the biscuit for me, however (and was crafted by the guy who designed the original Syndicate, Sean Cooper, to boot!).

These zombies dont die when you shoot them in the head? This totally throws off my "zombie plan"

They took a little artistic liberty and made it a damage based model. The reality is that a head shot will kill a real zombie. No need to adjust or toss your current plan.
