Eventually all these advertising programs that are designed to pique your curiosity and get you to check their website are going to start getting on my nerves.

I guess not yet, though. There's a lot more going on in that website's code than a placeholder page.

IE wasn't letting me see the page source code, but there was plenty of stuff when I saved it and opened for editing.

I've not been a fan of anything J.J. Abrams has done but the Cloverfield teaser was very cool. Sticking it in front of Transformers made me think it was actually the intro to the movie, I was actually disappointed that it wasn't.

You guys are right. I checked the source from another machine (and browser) and it's pretty plain. Something about the way IE7 works/doesn't, I guess. The only thing "fancy" there is the Google Analytics script.

Someone posted the trailer on youtube, but it was removed after a couple of hours.

Lots of people actually do believe this may be a Cthulhu-like flick.

As you can see it's just two photos right now that you can move around by click and dragging. You can turn them whatever way you want. People are speculating there is a hidden code somewhere.

I tried various internet address adding 12:36A and 12:01A to the end of the address to see if a hidden page showed up. It's my belief that if the correct address is put into the address bar that another page is going to pop up. I just don't know for certain. Anyone else have an idea like this?

This kind of thing annoys me. Put the stupid teaser on your website.

Do ARGs fill movie seats? I doubt it. I particularly doubt that they reach very many people in any form. I'm smack dab in the middle of the target demo, and I've never messed with one. Didn't see Snakes on a Plane, either.
