Damn... he looks as old as Connery did in The (Not) Last Crusade. However, note blood on knee"”so he's still presumably whipping butt, even from his wheelchair.

I have no idea why, but Ford has almost unlimited credibility with me. Let him star in as many sub-par action flicks as you like, I'll be the first in row for Indy 4.
And if I haven't seen further, it's because those bloody giants blocked my sight.
They'll struggle to beat Raiders, but I'll still be at the first showing with bells on. As long as they maintain the brutality - and futility - of the character, along with the gags, it'll be a solid addition.

Yup. Bonus points if they reference fate of Atlantis

Same here. He still looks the part, and seems to have the money and the sense to keep himself fit.
As long as the writing and character development reflects the standard of the originals, I'll pay to watch for however many new Joneses they make.

With Spielberg at the helm and the same actors reprising their respective roles it should be good.
I cannot wait for this. I will see it within the first few days of its opening.

Could be makeup making him look old....but I will be seeing this when it comes out.

This makes me smile like all hell... like seeing a picture of an old friend twenty years later.

That is freakin' great. Even bad the lesser Indiana Jones movies are really fun. And I like anything that forces John Williams to step into his 70's/80's leitmotif, big theme shoes.

I'll go see it, buy it, watch it, put it next to the other three. Then watch them all again.
Go for their eyes boo
Here's the thing - Indy was never particularly athlethic. He always ran like a gorilla and fought like some dude in a bar. The reason that Indy always won wasn't because he was some highly tuned killing machine, but because of sheer bloody mindedness - he never, ever gives up. So I don't think that old!Indy will be all that different, really.

The fact that Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade totally didn't suck (after Temple of Doom did), lends a lot of credibility to the idea of a fourth movie. I personally can't wait.

Hear hear! Any word if Connery is out of retirement for this movie?
We shall grapple with the ineffable, and see if we may not eff it after all.
It doesn't look like it. I still can't wait for this movie though.

I just hope that Spielberg doesn't replace Indy's weapons with walkie talkies like he did in E.T.

No, he looks old generally these days. I hear that happens when you're old, though.
And that's why I can relate to him!

That was only necessary for E.T. to get a 'U' rating instead of 'PG' in certain key Western territories.
Or have I missed the punchline..?

Indy 4, probably going to be just as good as 3 2 and 1. Though it's going to be hard to beat the "We are going to die. *frown*" scene in Temple of Doom when him and Squirt are stuck in that room filled with bugs. That was just classic Ford all the way.

Anyone actually know what the premise is? What artifact is Indy looking for this time?

His youth.
Seriously, I love the Indy movies and look forward to this one as well.

The leaked script (which may or may not be real) is based around a Chariot of the Gods. Gets into some pretty sci fi stuff later in the movie. The recent casting news and plot points are matching this script, so we'll have to wait and see.

It's more about how directors take cherished memories from our childhood and sh*t on them. Lucas did it with some of the changes in the Special Edition of Star Wars, and more thoroughly in the prequels. There was also a South Park episode that satirized this phenomenon.

I'm looking forward to this, but what's amusing to me is that I actually met Spielberg in the summer of 1996, and he told me at that time that he was making an Indiana Jones 4, but that if I came across a script on the Internet, it was a fraud, because the screenplay was still in develpment.
Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy - both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.
