GWJ Pile of Shame
I've been thinking about the pile of unplayed and/or unfinished games I've got laying around the house. Not all of them are winners, but quite a few would be considered "must plays." I've heard of a similar thread on 1up, and they mentioned it on 1up Yours. So, I thought I'd make a Pile of Shame thread that the entire community can edit. This sort of coincides with the Finished Any Games Lately? thread, but this is to get our butts in gear and play some of these titles. Let's channel the Goodjer Enabler Squad powers for a greater good and get some of these backlog titles off of our shelves.
Since I started this mess, I'll go first. I'm going to break it down into platforms and others can tack on titles as they see fit. I'm putting the games that I think are must play (at least "you should really play"), I own, have not started playing or have not finished. If titles in your pile match mine, add you name after mine. There are platforms listed that I do not currently own as placeholders. This isn't a wishlist. I would like to play Metal Gear Solid 4 when it comes out, but I don't own the platform.

Zelda for the Wii, the thorn of failure in my side. My wife and 6 year old got into this game as well and somehow my save file was copied over. I just have not had the heart to start over.

I think someone is erasing the other names after the titles. Let's leave those in there. Get a feel for how many of us haven't played a particular title.
Edit - I think I know what's happening. Multiple people hit the "Edit" tab and it grabs the content "as is." If you take 10 minutes to make your post, then when you hit submit, you can overwrite some of the other names next to the games that were added in the interim. Once the thread settles a little, we should be able to go back in and clean it up. You might also want to post the titles you're adding you name to in a comment, just in case.

Trachalio you really need to play Shadow of the Colossus asap. It's one of the few games that makes you experience many emotions as you play. I trade off games like crazy but I'm keeping my copy of SotC just so I can pop it in every once and awhile. It sticks with you long after you are done with it.

Dead Rising pisses me off so much with the way it's structured. Lack of save points and extremely annoying escort missions. I know I can avoid saving those people, but I feel I have to play the game fully.
Love the game, but that's a big frigging roadblock that makes me frown when I pick up the case. I've restarted from scratch many times too. But I get annoyed and just let it sit for another month because it seems like more of a chore than actual fun.
And Bully? Great, great game. I just can't get past the terrible visuals, frame-rate and poor controls. I've been spoiled by HD and intuitive controls. I know it's a bad excuse, but I wish for the love of god they would re-do this on current systems so I can explore the awesome world they've created - instead of squinting at muddied textures.

I figure we can get a decent list going and then try to pick one per platform per month to try and finish. Just make a goal, maybe create a new thread for that month to post experiences, pointers, whatever. It's more fun, even in single player, if you can share what you're doing. Once you get behind, you want to play what all of the cool kids with more free time are playing.

Posting these just for austerity, as these are games I will likely never finish.
Final Fantasy 7 is the huge one. Never passed disc one.
Half Life 1 and System Shock 2: Tried to get into both but i have a hard time with FPS games with dated graphics. (And i lost my ss2 save game and couldn't be bothered to start over)
Planescape: Torment - The one game I actually WOULD finish...if I could find a copy.

It's frustrating, but once the thread quiets down a little this problem should go away.
Edwin - I'm not trying to pick on you, but you just added quite a bit. Are those really "Must Play" titles that you own and have not played/finished, or are they titles you just never got around to? I don't want this to turn in to the "Everything including the kitchen sink I need to play thread."
Also, if you go in and make an edit, do a preview first. I've seen some funky formatting, missing spaces, open formatting stuff.
