Heck you can even watch the video.
And that's all I have to say about that.

Meh that video isn't a real video. It's just spliced together scenes of the trailer.
I don't care what people say, the music is very campy. I'm still excited as hell for this flick.
The script is horrendous but it doesn't need to be written well. All I want to see is big robots beat the crap out of each other and the reviews are saying it delivers that on epic levels.
I'm not really a girl. I just play one in video games.

The music and the video went really well together. There's a certain lyrical/emotional quality to the theme that is just right for a comic book movie of this type. Makes me want to see the film.
I have to admit that the song is pretty pathetic. I couldn't even listen to it all the way through. It was as if Nickleback had been reborn but played a little more "rockier"....
It's so boring.

I don't really like his voice, he sounds drunk. Should have gotten Chris Cornell to come in and scream for 3 minutes instead. About halfway through it sounds like some kind of Final Fantasy boss battle music too, hm.
What on Earth was wrong with White Lion eh? Pfft.
Anyone else notice that the drumbeat at the beginning is the same as Footloose?

It's not a bad cover of the theme, not a fan of his voice but I am still excited to see the movie
it should be good.

I'm also excited to see the flick, but the original theme (the one from the anime, anyway), was much better. Now I'm off to search for the original theme to wash that one from my mind.
Thanks for the link though, Grumpicus.
I'm pretty sure that was terrible. I don't know why that poor man sounds like he wants to cry, but I hope he gets better.
Of course, if I'm lucky, I'll have the real Transformers theme stuck in my head all afternoon.

That was pure, unfiltered, 100% grade A awfulness. In fact, I think that is the source of all awfulness. That music alone could start an awfulness factory and supply the world with awful for generations to come. We can sleep soundly knowing our children will never want for awful ever again.
I'll still see the movie. Nostalgia > Cynicism. At least this time.

I'm not surprised by this, it's exactly how I thought it would be. A non-sucky movie theme song is very rare indeed. A Ray Parker, Jr. only comes along so often.

Huh? Do Transformers scream 'emo' to you or something?

-on L4DYeah the song sucks, but really, take the old 80's hair metal Transformers theme, update it 20 years, and this is exactly what you get.
Except that hair metal is better than today's music.

Someone made a custom Guitar Hero 2 song using the White Lion version. Check it out.
No, but Michael Bay movies do.

And the fact that having an emo song in a blockbuster film is standard practice these days. Hell, just look at the nausea-inducing listing for the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack.
I just looked up the official soundtrack listing for Transformers, and these guys aren't on it; the theme's being done by some group called Mute Math.

You won't get anywhere with all of those people leaving at once. Scream "FIRE!" along with your run. Or hell, go for broke and light the place on fire. It needs to be purified after playing that song.

That part where Optimus transforms out of the truck and there's fire coming out underneath, then he jumps and flies on his determination alone, wipping out every sorry Decepti-creep on the way is still. totally. awesome.
Yeah, as as been alluded, this is a pretty close cover of the Lion version from the first movie.

If the fights in the new film can match what they did in the rest of that fight sequence (campy dialog included), I'm sold.

Actually, Emo "punk" is today's Hair Metal.
I probably won't see this movie in the theaters. I just hate the lead "guy".
