Most people hadn't heard about this game until the demo hit Live (in typical Codemasters fashion, they can't market their way out of a paper bag) but I've been following it for a bit. After playing the demo, I'm really excited for it. This game really feels like a mix of Sacrifice and Dungeon Keeper which is like Chocolate and Peanut Butter as far as I'm concerned. I've been itching for a really good, funny evil game and this looks like it could be it.

My only real complaint with the 360 version is the controls. That you can't manually adjust the camera beyond snapping it behind your character is a bit of a pisser. I think this comes from Triumph Studios only having developed for PC before this. I'm going to play the PC demo as well when it comes out and if you can adjust the camera with the mouse and port quality isn't horrendous, I'll be going with that version. I really hope this game does well because if so, maybe it'll convince EA to make Dungeon Keeper 3. We need more games like this!

By the end of the demo, I had gotten used to the camera controls and didnt find them too tough to use.

Best moment: Sending a goblin to attack a sheep. He jumped through the air, rode the back of the sheep for a few seconds, then snapped the sheep's neck. Brilliant.

It looks like it will be a fun, short game. aka, a rental.

From what I hear the single player campaign is something like 50 hours long. Supposedly a huge game with a fairly indepth backend involving developing your tower and your evil society.

My days of not taking you seriously have certainly come to a middle.

This sounds and looks great. I'll be keeping my eye on the PC version. Thanks for the heads-up.

I enjoyed the demo. At one point I sent my minions in to destroy a pumpkin patch, and two of them came out wearing pumpkins on their heads as helmets. If there are enough positive reviews on this bad boy, I'll be picking it up.

Also, of note, and I don't think the audibly tell you during the demo, but it is shown in the image of the controller setup, is that you can swing the camera around by holding down one of the bumbers ( I can't remember which now) and then using the right stick.

I think this is a great application of a Pikmin style game, I love the evil humor. I can't wait for the retail version to come out. I think it's releasing on June 26?

I played the demo through the tutorial and liked it; I will be going back to play some more later. I had Dungeon Keeper but my computer at the time struggled to run it, so I didn't get to play as much as I liked. I was definitely chuckling through the tutorial.

To move the camera hold down the left bumper and move the right analog stick. It's not totally smooth or intuitive, but it is there at least.

I liked the demo, it certainly has potential. It looks alot like Dungeon Master and an old PC favorite (my first CD-ROM game) The Horde (which I wish would be remade).

I wasn't happy about killing animals, though. Silly, as I am a carnivore, I know.

I am looking forward to this one. I didnt get to the demo before leaving, but I loved Dungeon Keeper and the sequel and if this is half the fun then it will be well worth having. Any idea when the PC release date will be?

I tried the demo over the weekend and really liked it. It reminded me of Pikmin on the Gamecube and I LOVED that game. I figured it would just be a rental, but if it's 50 hours, it may have to be a purchase. I've got so many fricking games to play as it is. Now it looks like I'll be picking up another soon.

I really liked this game, reminded me of the old Dungeon Keeper series. I really want to play it on the 360 but I am tired of the "console tax".

PC = $40
360 = $60

360 version must come with a "HAPPY" ending?!

The PC demo is out now. I'm going to try it there too and see if it has mouselook. If so, I'll definitely be there for PC. And yeah, having to pay more for the same game on 360 where you also have to pay for multiplayer is idiotic.

I tried the 360 version tonight. While it was funny and it's always cool to play an evil character -- I usually roleplay evil when I can -- it's Pikmin. Evil pikmin. And God, if there's one game that frustrated the hell out of me, it was Pikmin.

I think I'll pass on this one.

I think you can control the camera like any third person shooter (i.e. with the right stick) by holding the right bumper.

Yep, though it's the left bumper. You can rotate that way, tap the bumper to recenter, click the right stick to get a wider camera angle and even tap the right trigger to have the camera follow your minion.

I'll have to try that. I went and downloaded the PC demo tonight for comparison. It was good as well and the thing that I loved is that Triumph Studios clearly is making an effort to make sure it isn't a Ubisoft-quality half-assed PC port. It's very polished and high quality. You are in fact able to control the camera with mouselook but it feels twitchy and especially when you're "sweeping" your minions, it seems to fight you. The other thing I noticed is that the speech of the characters seems to distort a little bit, like its clipping. I'm running a brand new X-Fi on High audio detail so that's a bit concerning.

I'm still torn between which version to get (particularly because the PC version will be $20 cheaper) but if the camera controls on the 360 are better and I can get used to them, I may go that way. Not sure though.

IS there any way to get this running on win2k? I never bothered upgrading my desktop to XP since my laptop came with it. I can't see any reason other than a simple OS check as to why it won't run....

I guess i'll have to upgrade to vista sooner rather than later if there isn't... too many games are becoming XP only.

Only thing that drove me nuts (PC Demo here) was having the control setup outside the game. Hopefully that won't be the case for the full release, but it's sort of bothersome to me. I forgot some of the controls once I got into the game after it flashed the screen showing them. Perhaps there was a way to bring that screen back up in game, but I couldn't find it.

Either way it doesn't seem like it should be so hard to include an in-game control editor.

Other than that, I enjoyed it. If there is even 20 -30 hours of game here, building up an evil tower, that is enough to make this a release day purchase for me.

Yeah, I'm going to be ordering this. The bad thing for me is that this and The Darkness are released on the same day. Oh well, since these are probably the only two games I'm getting until the end of August, that should be fine.

Demo took forever to download, but I hope to install and play soon. Funny, I'd never heard about this game at all until this thread popped up. I almost didn't click on it, because I figured it'd be just another one of them there new-fangled "console" games.

This game has gotten almost no attention because of Codemasters' inept marketing and sadly, it probably won't sell well despite it shaping up to be a total blast. I hope it gets some post-release community buzz though because Triumph Studios has always put out great product and maybe the success of this could mean Dungeon Keeper 3.
