Any coin collectors?

Any GWJ coin collectors? I went to cash in my change today at the grocery's Coinstar machine, ended up about fifty bucks worth. One of the coins it spit out as incompatible I noticed was a 1951 dime, cool. On a whim I looked it up online figuring it would be worth like thirteen cents or something. Well it looks like it is going for like $20 on eBay if it's uncirculated or around $2 if it's been used like mine has.
Any coin collectors want it? I have no use for it but thought if someone on here collected coins I'll drop it in the mail to you, just PM me your address.

I do collect coins, but I mostly collect foreign coinage - nothing really worth anything, just unusual stuff.

I collect cool Quarters that we have here especially if it's unique for the event or such but normally I am not a coin collector at all.

I tend to keep older coins around just because they are interesting. My favorite one, I carry in my wallet. It's a '57 quarter I got in change at Burger King. The guy handed it to me, but dropped it, and it had that silvery "ding" that I remember from being a kid. I asked him if he was sure he wanted to give it to me and he just looked puzzled, so I kept it. Can't imagine how it got into the money stream, but I have an idea it was stolen, because it's VG or better. You can see the tail feathers, leaves on the branch, it's well ridged, etc.
I take it out sometimes for people and make it go "ding".

Heh.
Back when the US switched from using silver coins (to the nickle-alloy ones we use today), my grandfather would go to the bank each Friday and purchase $100 in coins. Then, when things were quiet over the weekend, he'd sort out the silver ones and use the rest to purchase another $100 the next Friday.
He did this for a couple years (rinse and repeat).
When grandpa passed on, he left me two shoe boxes full of the silver coins he found. I haven't done anything with them yet (they've just been sitting in my safe)...but I guess I should.
All said, I guess I am a collector, albeit a passive one so far.
Thanks for the post...with the memories of grandpa it brought back, I feel compelled to (at the very least) do a little research, and catalog what he found.

I'm an accidental coin collector. Like I'll find something neat and hang onto it. I have some WWII steel pennies and a 1964 silver quarter (the last year they minted silver quarters). I didn't notice the quarter making a weird DING when I got it, I just noticed it was much brighter than the other quarters.

I have a bunch of pennies that I collected when I was younger. I also inherited a pennie collection from one of my great uncles, there were a few that were pretty interesting, including one from 1878 thats worth a bit of money. I still look over any pennies I get to see if there is anything worth while.
