As you said, Allakhazam isn't as printer friendly any more. I do, however like their new layout much better.
Personally, given that WoW has built in automapping features, I don't find printed maps required at all. They were a huge boon for FFXI, but not so much in WoW. Get a copy of Cartographer, an Ace2 mapmod and the Auctioneer suite of tools and you'll be set, even if all you use from Auctioneer is Gatherer.
As for general tradeskill information, Allakhazam is great for drop rates on tradeskill items. Thottbot is pretty good for what you need to make what item, what level you can get a recipe at, and things of that nature. However, right now a lot of the recipes are missing the minimum skill, which makes navigating that data a gold plated pain in the arse.

Like you say, mapping isnt a big deal, but I'm an engineer, and I don't want to miss any items that I could learn to craft while I'm leveling in the different areas.
So being able to print out a concise list of craftable items and the trainers/vendors where I can buy the schematics would be great. Gamefaqs doesn't have what I"m looking for.
I would actually recommend http://www.wowhead.com over Thottbot these days. The comment rating system makes sure that most comments are helpful and not full of complaints and "omgz th1s iteem r0x000rs"

Just my 2 copper.
I second this and add 2 copper. Also, if you want the quest comments in-game, check out the Light-headed addon.

Except Thott has that same kind of system as well. I would have recommended WoWHead, but I find Thott far, far easier to navigate.

WoWhead is my new love since BC. I'm glad to see the site took off. I remember when they first started and al they had was a talent calculator. Best site out there IMO.
www.ampwow.com has some nice stuff too. It's like a mini wowhead clone but does have some nice features.

Kaliban's Loot List is another good site for loots. It's broken down much the same way as you describe theorycrafter, but I've used it for pretty much forever and am somewhat loathe to move on. You can find it here if you'd care to check it out.
As to WoW Head, I checked it out again last night; I can't say I really like it any better. There's a lot more info there, but I hate the layout enough to continue using thott, despite the lack of updates and tons of private server crap that people upload for grins.

My biggest problem with Thott is that I have to spend some time looking at their data to determine if it's good or not. They have had several clients that report data differently and often when I search for quests or mobs, I find 20 of them and I have to figure out which one is recent. That's 100% broken in my book.
Would it kill them to purge data?

The problem isn't so much in client reporting, it's people who report data from private servers. It wouldn't kill them to purge the data, but that would be a fairly large setback, since it would pretty much be a reset on all the data that's been collected in the last 3 years or so.

my beef with Kaliban's site is thats its slow to get updated.. other than that its decent.. Theorycrafters is a tad better though.. between them and WoWHead I'm pretty much covered.

This thread is breaking my formatting. Please throw a space somewhere in there.
Also, check GameFaqs. Just a guess.

I think he means the Thread Title. And yeah maybe Gamefaqs has them.
