Lazy, lazy. That's like something the French would do so they could sip more coffee and smoke more cigarettes in a cafe rather than fight Germans.

Can't wait guys.

Hey, I've put up a Frappr map for us. I'd like to know where we're located. I know there are a few Frappr maps located on GWJ, but not for any of us who play the Battlefield series.

Please join up.

Another shooter that is the sequel to Operation Flashpoint from a few years ago.

Demo here

Perhaps a demo night would be order later this May?

I have never played an Operation Flashpoint game, I would be up for a demo night.

Good news: my new motherboard works!

Bad news: had some problems formatting my drive for reinstalling Windows last night. Because of this and a family get-together tonight, I won't have time to install Windows and BF2142 in time for tonight's shenanigans.

Good news: I still have BF2142 installed on my work laptop.

Bad news: it's just barely up to the task of running BF2142 and last week I had trouble with my mic, so I'll be playing and on Ventrilo, just not talking.

Yesterday at work Indignant and I were looking at the game. He droolin' over that sweet interface that ArmA has native support for. I had Operation Flashpoint, it was a geat game. I suppose if this game reaches critical around here, I'd have to get it.

But, that being said, the games does look like it needs a beast of a computer to run-- RT time, weather, moon phases. Sweet. So so sweet- but so expensive to run.

I ran the demo, and the visuals are scalable like they are in BF2/2142. My machine is pretty weak, so it's not any more demanding than 2142. I'd miss out on all the great effects, however, and since so much of the game is looking for little blurry guys in the pixellated distance I don't know if I'd go retail for it.

A night of multiplayer demo action would be okay.

I really liked the dynamic lighting changes throughout maps in Joint Ops.

No, it's not. If I had said "I hope you're tucking them in down at the ramrod club" it would have been perverted. What I posted was purely a statement of public concern. Like one of those celebrity 'the more you know' things on NBC.

Those were the days man. Certis hiding in some tree a gazillion miles away sniping you, Shotgunphil making fun of my botched attempts at a knife kill on him, Zedian and Reaper seeing just what they can cram into the Halo, Slick wiping out all the organized strategy people, and the beautiful screams as another Swampair flight comes in for a landing.

I had fun last night. Thank you Funken for the advice on the reinstall to fix my PunkBuster issues.

We won more than we lost. On that last map Lampshade must have hit some sort of milestone because afterwards he got more medals pinned on him than a Russian WW II general.

Last night'll keep me coming back for a while!

I learned that only after months of pain in BF2, so I'm glad we nipped that problem in the bud. It's a drag to keep getting disconnected when everyone is having fun.

That Berlin map was great, too. Seems like every other time we've played it we've gotten whomped.

Nice to win that one after all the bloodbaths we have persevered through.

I felt bad for corpsdawg, he was stuck with the pubtards defending on that one. While we had a few more players I think the real key was teamwork and good use of the NS faster-speed spawn beacon.

I think the real key was me. I may have only had 5 kills when Quintin had something like 15 and everyone else 10 or something, but they were all key kills against their 5 best players at the most decisive moments. I was like, everywhere at just the right moment to totally disrupt their attacks. Not that I'm bragging or anything. I was just like a super 2142 karate dude who knew all their weakpoints and struck them with the fist of death.

Don't get me wrong here. You guys helped a little, too. I appreciate that. Every little bit helps. Just so long as we all remember, it was all me, even though maybe the stats don't reflect my complete domination of the other side.

I kept trying to switch over to the GWJ side when I first came on, but resigned myself to killing Swampy from the Titan a couple of times. Those last 2-3 kills were all on the ground though Swampy. My mic is screwed up and I can't talk in Vent, but I can hear you cursing at me.

I got three knife kills in under 30 seconds on that last map. Seems that our team was on fire that game.

Arma intriges me. I like that you can lean around cover and it has the inclusions of choppers. Has anyone tried the demo yet? Does it have the same command structure that 2142 has? As much as I like BF2 everyone just seems to spread out all over the place because squad leaders cant issue orders and if arma is the same as BF2 then I'll pass.

Squad leaders can issue orders in BF2. And one reason people get spread out is because of the way we spawn back in. A lot of times you don't spawn back in right next to your S/L, for a variety of reasons. The next thing you know, you're all over the place.
