Awesome, thanks!

Boy, I needed that old forest map a week ago for that quest where you have to carry the water from the spring and I kept getting lost.

There is a little shortcut from the spring that I found. If you climb the rocks on the right side then run across the first level of the falls (waist deep to Hobbits) there is a gap in the trees that brings you north out of the forest. It's a great way to avoid aggro.

I both love and hate the Old Forest. I hate it because it's so damn easy to get lost and killed by the scary trees. And I love it because it's so damn easy to get lost and killed by the scary trees. One of the well done areas I've seen in an MMO I think. I had a blast trying to get all the flowers and the areas for the deeds, felt like i was really exploring something, considering that I rarely came across other players.

Thank you, Malkiel. Some great information!

I feel the same about the Old Forest as you do Barab. I love it and hate it. I really felt a sense of foreboding every time I entered it, which I think was the point. It was scary in there.

That is a pretty damn cool use of the Google Maps engine. Would love it if they could find a way to zoom in deeper.

Think about how cool it would be in a Google Earth type engine, where you could change the perspective from directly overhead to a more 3d view along the landscape.
