Looks awesome and well skinned. I like.

But holy hell, that UI looks like someone barfed on the screen with a little maths mixed in.

It looks like it might be CoolDown Timer Bars

Looking at that screenshot makes me realize that I'm a total interface customisation newb. I am all excited that I have Titan Panel working in a way that I like.

What mod do they use to get the black bar at the bottom to house all their stuff? I recall Duckilama had a similar set up and I tried his suggestions but I couldn't get that bar set up like that.

I don't recall the name of it, but it's a pretty neat mod. It's actually just a black section added on to the bottom of the screen, and the playable area just gets bumped up a bit. There's a handful of compilations out there that integrate it. I think WoW Insider has done an add-on spotlight for it.

I believe it's actually part of the CT Mod. It's called Viewport and it basically allows you to create a user specific (height & width) background.

As for the other mod, it looks like a reverse version of CT's Buffmod. Maybe someone else got it right.

Interface customization is both a blessing an a curse. Someday I'm convinced people will be running a second monitor that serves as a diagnostic panel for their toon.

With some of the UI setups I've seen I'm not sure how people actually see the game. It's like playing WoW while looking through a tube.

On the subject of UI...

I'm currently using bartender 3, xperl frames, wardrobe, and an addon that let's me move the mini map, but i find I'm missing all the other stuff I got with cosmos, Id there any suite of addons that have the functions I'm looking for? I basically want to be able to take everything, and stick it at the bottom of the screen, with the ability to move the bars directly under my character. I tank, so having all the things i need at the bottom is a must!

BTW.. So glad i joined GWJ. All of the knowledge of the forums...none of the fanbois!

I've found the best bet for building your UI isn't to go with a compliation, it's to build it from the ground up yourself.

There's a few that I pull out of CTMod(MailMod is it), but beyond that, I run a fairly slim UI.

As far as having everything at the bottom, ViewPort is pretty much the way to go there, and have all your mods allow for moving stuff around. Clean UI for where your character is, and everything else is at the bottom.

http://www.wowace.com/

Those are pretty much the best places on the web for getting UI mods. I'd suggest setting up an account with WoW interface if for no other reason than to have a list of favorite mods.

I'll give viewport a try. do you havenay problems runing just what you want from CT? Does it play nice with the other interfaces?

Curse Gaming is about the worst site out there for finding UI mods. It's horribly bloated and disorganized. Once, it was alright, but those days are long past. So full of bloat and old code, and no real way to filter it out. I still go there occasionally for stuff I can't find in an Ace2 variant, but those are few and far between now.

As for CT Mod, I just don't like being tied to getting updates from their site. The only mod I still use from the CT compilation is the MailMod, everything else is built on Ace2.

Ace2? tell me more? Oh and what's the difference between titan and perl and bartender and that stuff. I've been playing since release, but I've just recently been exploring the world of UI mods. other than CTraid and cosmos, I havn't used anything else

I am also interested in ACE2, tell us more. I would check the ACE website here at work if my company didnt feel the need to have websense filter out all gaming websites =( I am surprised i can even get on this site.

Ive been looking for a good complete UI besides CT Mod, any suggestions?

I linked WoW Ace three posts back, but thanks for a second one

As to compliation UIs, I don't recommend them as a rule. Most of them out there are really overbloated with lots of stuff you're probably not going to need/use.

As to what Ace2 is, it's a shared library for WoW UI mods. Bartender3, agUnitFrames, Cartographer and a few other mods that I use are built on it. It gives developers more stability to work with, since the library was created to play nice with minor patches, and even some major patches as well.

For the most part i have played WoW since day one of release without any UIs installed. I dabbled in Cosmos until it didnt work with the first patch after i installed it, and the same goes with CT Mod. Its not because im to lazy to update them after patches, its because i work and go to school full time Monday through Friday, so when i get free time, all i wanna do is play and not look up UI updates.

So compilation UIs are over bloated with crap most people would never use? That does seem true in my experience with cosmos and CT Mod, i remember only using maybe 25 percent of both of them. When i get home tonight im gonna look at ACE2 and download it and give it a try.

Is Titan Panel useful? I like some of its features. How many of you use it?

Titan is nice; I prefer FuBar. It's another Ace2 mod, and is pretty customizable. I've also found its memory footprint smaller than Titan.

Thanks alot for the info AnimeJ, sounds like for now ACE2 is what im looking for. Im gonna give it a try.

Are there any quirky things i need to know before setting it up into my wow ui folder? And does it need to be updated after every patch?

Drop it in, unrar/unzip it. After patch day, click the addon button in the lower right, and load out-of-date addons. If your UI is a little bugy, then update to the latest versions, but that's rarely an issue.

My apologies to Gameguru for hijacking the thread. Didn't realize we'd get so far off topic.

I'll look for that mod when I start toolling around in ace when I get home.

Any paladins here forget to re-buff themselves with Righteous Fury?
I cobbled this together with a lot of reuse from Finder Reminder.
http://code.google.com/p/righteousreminder/downloads/list

I'm thinking of making it configurable to let any class pick that spell that they just can't remember to cast on themselves every 30 minutes, and have it remind them of it whenever it's down.
I dunno.

I use it on my pally and it really helps me.

From the look of it overall, they're using MazzleUI, so presumably that's the CD mod packed into that.
