Right on (even though I hate when you blow me up with that invisish*t). I'd add that other things I can't live without: The friends list that rids the need for "Can I get an IP?" Or tanks that can be killed with a single shot to the back. Or the lack of raping by aircraft and choppers. Or Titan mode. Or launching from the Titan onto a point.
BF2 Tuesday is a good idea, though. I don't have a 360, so I'm kind of closed out of all those other games people have going during the week.
I got it, made Corporal Silver and got tired of the lag-trocious Titan maps. I just couldn't muster up the desire. Also, the whole future-tech thing kinda turned me off.
I still debate jumping on the Thursday game, and I would have last night, but I fell asleep.
Tuesday nite is a great night for BF2! This is what I wanted since 2142 came out. A night for BF2 and a night for 2142! Event though I love the helos in 2142 I miss the choppers in 2. Let me at 'em!

Nothing's necessarily set in stone as far as what day to do it going forward. If, for example, only half as many people make it on Tuesday as came last Wednesday, I think that would be a hint that we ought to do it Wednesdays instead.
And I know people only like one event on the calendar per night, but I think that there will be times when there are so many games that people want to play that we'll inevitably end up with more than one per night from time to time. Also, there's a ton of people who are only 360 gamers, or only PC gamers, so I think it's good that when overlap does occur, it's on two different platforms. Or, you know, totally different genres or something - the WoW people could care less if you schedule an RTS during their guild night, I imagine. End of digression...

Is there any interest in trying any of the BF2 mods like Point of Existence 2 or Project Reality on Tuesday? I'd love to try some POE2 with GWJ.
Are those free mods? If people are interested in them, I could see giving one or the other a shot one of these weeks. As far as this upcoming Tuesday, we only played a handful of maps last week so we're probably still good to go with just "vanilla" BF2. We didn't even get any Sharqi or Karkand.

We were playing POE2 this past autumn, and we collectively had a ton of fun on some of the maps - The one with the downed helo in the center was great.
We played POE2 on Thursday nights for a while when it came out. We had fun but a lot of people had serious lag on a bunch of the maps, and the prime attraction of it became that awesome infantry-only map in the forest.
I remember Swampy getting very frustrated by the number of kills I was gathering using his skull for target practice on that map. Run forward a few meters, take a knee, scan for targets, move again. That map was a ton of fun. The farm one with the "wheat" fields was sort of cool too, but a sh*tty team doomed you pretty quick on that one.
Just a reminder - this is tomorrow! Still just vanilla BF2.
Some requests to whoever ends up picking the server - please make sure that it's not an "infantry only" server, which you can check in the bottom right of the server browser when the server's name is highlighted.
I'm hoping for some Karkand and/or Sharqi this time around...but I'll settle for anything where I live more than 10 seconds before a jet nukes me into oblivion. My friend MudderFudder and I were discussing jet balance this weekend, in light of last week's pwning. In real life, fighters rarely attack anything on the ground, and certainly not infantry. Little bit crazy.

I got pwned like a nub last Wednesday, but somehow that didn't put me off of wanting to play again. I think I'm holding out a false hope that I'll be able to redeem myself on the city maps.

I've got my playdisc (labeled Install Disc... that had me tearing apart my disc collection for a number of days until I decided to try launching the game with that in the drive... THAT's how long it's been since I've played.)
I plan on being there tomorrow night on Vent with my rifle loaded.

I expect my new motherboard and case to arrive by the end of the week. If things go smoothly over the weekend, I can be on next week. Late, probably, around 9:30.

Tuesday is Clancy games on the 360, so BF2 is OK by me. I could never really get into 2142.
