i have zero self-control...

Whats that in real money?
Also AMD just slashed all their CPU prices.. and it looks like Intel will as well shortly.

it's $260 USD
and our sales dude at tigerdirect said they did it in response to the AMD price slashes... the E6600 outperforms even the FX-74 right now...
Yeah but then I'd have to give business to TigerDirect. Quite possibly one of the worst places to deal with besides MDG.

MDG?
If you're from the US, you wouldn't know them. They are a franchise operation that's trying to be a Canadian version of Dell mixed with the old IBM retail stores. They're a crooked operation that sells garbage computers and then refuses to fix it under warranty when it breaks because they say you broke it. I've had over a dozen clients who paid me to fix a system that was months old for things like failed hard disks and bad RAM because MDG simply refused to help them. I'm not sure if this is just their Ottawa stores or the whole operation but the quality of their products (or lack thereof) is undeniable.

MDG is indeed horrible, but I've had no problems with tigerdirect.ca other than somewhat overpriced shipping (But then again, i feel like all shipping is overpriced. Maybe it's all that "Handling" that they do with those diamond studded gloves)
Sigh, I need a new processor, but I'd need a new mobo to go along with that. Ah well.

Yeah the whole Core 2 line is supposed to drop pretty drastically in price on like the 21st or 22nd of this month anyway.
I'm not 100% on it, but I think the 6600 is supposed to drop into the 250 range anyway.
The biggest drop is easily the E6700 dropping from $500 something to just a bit over $300. Crazy tempting.
