I think I filled out a similar survey back before Serenity came out. The idealist in me would love to see this happen, the more vocal, cynical realist in me doesn't think it'll ever happen.

Both from the standpoint of "Heck Yeah this is Firefly" and I support independent productions whenever I can. There's a pretty good Star Trek one, too, but I don't have the link here at work.

I've found that Firefly is pretty much the realm of guys fantasies. Girls are not attracted to it at all, except perhaps for the elusive "geek hot girl" which I haven't found yet.
I think the moment you pitch it as "Space Cowboys" they kinda lose interest.

Yeah, that got my hopes up for about 30 seconds and now I'm falling back into the dark depression the followed watching the last episode of Season 1 on DVD (and Serenity), knowing that this fantastic show that I had only just discovered was already over.
I guess we can still hope that Whedon does what he just initiated with Buffy: Doing a season 8 in the comic medium. But while I can see it working for Buffy (the first issue the other week wasn't half bad), I don't think Firefly would be nearly as compelling in that format.
