Awkward, you slimy bastid, thief of my time and attention. That was fun! I got through all of easy without letting anyone through - except the last boss.
In Ultima Online I used to poison hams and leave them on the ground in cities for people to pick up and eat. I can't believe how many people thought street ham was a good thing to eat. -Elliottx
It seems there are as many clones of this game as tetris and arkanoid:

I'm using group name GWJ for the scores. My first attempt was bad... got to mid 20s.
I didn't know you could upgrade all of the weapons.

Hint-
The turrets can be used to funnel the incoming enemies into clumps so that the tower that does splash damage can make mince meat out of them.

I fail against immune critters. The first immune boss escapes EVERY time. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Do I want to create unbroken tunnels? It just seems like I can't deal enough damage no matter what I do.
Favorite thing so far: Building a U turn with upgraded turrets on the inside wall and a freeze tower on the pivot. If you get the spacing right then the enemies will take a looooong stroll through at least 80% of the turret's firing radius.
Politely rude. Briskly vague. Firmly uninformative.

I'm in 6th place. LeapingGnome is leading the pack, closely followed by LeapingGnome. Although LeapingGnome is pushing LeapingGnome for third place LeapingGnome has very respectable score for fourth. Following him is LeapingGnome with LeapingGnome right behind me. Bringing up the rear is Eazy_Bordone.

First even. Upgrading the guns is way more important then to have a whole lot of them.
But it's pretty hard to balance between ground group grinding and anti air weapons.

Today I discovered from reading the forums that you get bonus points for sending the next wave in early. I was wondering how people had gotten to 6000+.

Woohoo! Came in third with this
So which towers do you guys plant first and then how do you progress (outside in or inside out)?
Do you ever walk alone like a drifter in the dark?
I've been experimenting, I don't want to look at cheats or other people's maps. I usually plant the squirt towers guys first, with maybe a row of pellets in front depending on money/how I lay it out. Starting at the outside near the entrances working in has worked best for me. I've tried the "obstacle course" approach where you make them run through paths you've built and the big middle clump approach. I haven't played over Normal yet. Still trying to find the balance between upgrades vs more towers.
My latest ones, I've started with 2 squirts in the center, corners touching, and a third squirt half-spaced away from them. One of them I upgrade twice. Add a fourth squirt mirroring the third when I get the cash, then upgrade 2 of the squirts when I get the cash to handle the group creeps. From there, I branch out on diagonals, mainly NE and SW to block the creep from going around.

Well I have been peeking at others maps. So far the diagonal seems to be the way to go when I make my guantlet vertical I don't seem to last as long. I'm also experimenting with the amount of non-pellet towers vs upgrades...

So far my best attempt I started with one squirt in the middle, and the rest of my cash was spent on pellet guns funneling both groups into the top left corner. For the first few waves the pellet guns kill everything, giving me enough cash to add the dart guns at the chokepoint of the funnel. Then I create the stem of the funnel, placing a freeze as close to the center area and adding another squirt. Then I build up the end of the funnel, making sure my upgraded squirts are in the line of the air groups. I try to keep things simple and make the enemy groups circle around my central cluster of upgraded guns until they die. I simply extend the maze with the cheap pellet guns and sink most of my cash into upgrading the central guns as quickly as possible.
Some of the last group of flyers are the only ones that escaped in my last game, so I somehow need to work another anti-air tower into my plans.

Upgrading those Squirts is indeed a very good way to go. Specially since they also take down the air creeps.
I wonder how much you gain by doing the maze at the beginning instead of later. I've been doing that, but I think it might be wiser to spend that money on upgrading first, and then later, when money comes a bit more rapidly, expand it into a maze.
It's probably best to conserve as much money for upgrading as possible, the upgrades make really heavy weapons. I love the fully upgraded dart tower, that thing packs a nice punch. But it's no-anti-air is a big drawback.
I haven't been using much of the frost tower. It will probably help with those bosses, which are quite hard. About bosses, I think those are the ones you really don't want to slip away, for they give a great gold boost.
I don't watch, I interact!
Bosses give high point values as well. The toughest bosses in the game, I think, are the flying bosses that show up somewhere in the 30's. Those guys are tough, fast, and not affected by your maze. You need a couple of maxed out swarm turrets and 3 or 4 (or more) maxed squirt towers to guarantee you get them, plus strategically placed freeze towers to slow them down enough to pound them dead. The problem is when your towers are still mopping up previous waves of baddies, it's easy for the air bosses to slip by while your resources are divided. I have a single perfect game so far and I'm trying to get a perfect game while at the same time getting more points for releasing waves early.
