Heroes 2-19-07 (*Spoilers, ahoy!*)
Peter flies, Simone dies, and a cameo by Stan "The Man" Lee? Nice.
Any suggestions for a group name to call Psychic Cop and his posse of wannabe heroes? How does Sylar plan to keep killing and absorbing powers while travelling with Mohinder? And is this the last we'll see of Claude, no pun intended?
I groaned over Stan Lee's cameo. I can't stand that guy.

I never really got into Battlestar, so... is the above a compliment or an insult?

Battlestar is a great series, but the last few episodes have left us a bit wanting in the plot development department.

Eh...after watching "Who Wants to be a Superhero?" over the summer, I'm a little over Stan "The Stilted Man" Lee, but it was a nice little comic-book moment there, so I'm on the fence on that issue.
I really hope Peter reaches his breaking point soon, so that he can go back to being more interesting. Frankly, the more he gets in control of what he can do, the more of a bully he's become, and thus less interesting, since he's supposed to be the antithesis (in theory) to his brother.
Hiro gaining what appears to be a new power (rewinding the bullet into the gun, causing it to fly out of Hope's hand) was pretty cool. However, emo-Hiro is starting to make his appearance a bit, and that makes me sad. Hiro was the one guy having fun with all this, and him losing his innocence is a little depressing.
Matt's starting to get interesting, though...him joining up with Hana and Ted to take on Bennet should be interesting. Also will be interesting to see exactly how Claire starts to figure into things with that. Not sure if she'll take off with that group, or even whether they'll accept her in, seeing that she's still a kid.

What is "Who Wants to be a Superhero?" ? I don't get american tv, I just get some shows over the net. I assume it's some sort of reality-show...

One of the most interesting things about the whole show for me was that when HRG was confronted by Matt, Hana, and Ted he told wife and son to get out of the house....Claire apparently was invited to stay. I'm still on the edge waiting to find out if HRG has powers....would be odd to explain how he made it so far without them. I would be less surprised to find out he has some real big aces in those sleeves.

It was a reality show that aired on the Scifi channel last summer. A bunch of comicbook cos-players got to dress up and live their own superhero experiences for the chance of being made into a real comicbook. I watched the pilot, hated it, got drunk, watched it again and ended up really enjoying the insane haminess of it.
The Scifi channel is working on a second season of it for this coming Summer.

I've been thinking it over and I think it's Sylar that will explode not Peter.
Peter can turn the powers off that he absorbs (unless you count Simone's dad's premonitions/dream power), Sylar it seems, so far, can't.
And Simone ain't dead-dead.
Do you ever walk alone like a drifter in the dark?
I think its better worded if you say Peter has to turn his powers on as they are off by default (bring up the memory of the person) while sylar's are always on by default.

If you want some more spoilers (especially for the girl just introduced to Nuke-Guy) the comics up to 'Issue 20' are up, use this link as a template.

Getting rid of Simone = awesome in my book. Absolutely useless character all around.
Though I suspect the writers are gonna be sh*tes about it and have Peter use Hiro's time powers to save her.
My days of not taking you seriously have certainly come to a middle.

Very cool episode. I think the writers have been listening to people's complaints - storylines are colliding more and more, and stuff is actually changing. Ando's gone, Simone's dead, huge changes inside the GD family, and a good old standoff involving psychic cop.
I'm a little offput by just HOW quickly Peter has progressed. What exactly does he need Claude for, anymore? He seems to be able to harness all of his powers completely at will, now. Maybe he has to be really angry and/or motivated? I wonder if he could use a power to, say, open a can of pop while watching TV.

I was thinking Team Unstable. Seriously, everyone on that team is prone to flip out at any moment. I love the fact that they're working together, though. Action is finally happening.
I think it was the loss of Claude that made Peter go nutso and figure out how to use his powers. Claude had already driven him to the edge, now he's over it and I'm not sure he's looking back. He doesn't realize he already has what he wants, he just knows his teacher is gone.
Also, I just remembered he was around Matt Parkman for a while, does he know he can read minds, or just think he has the power to make some sort of feedback loop in his head? Since he's been around Sylar, does he have ALL of his abilities and doesn't know how to trigger them, or just the abilities Sylar tried to use on him?
Speaking of Sylar, how long do you think the Sylar/Mohinder team up is going to last? Just until they get back to the apt and Sylar sees the list? Sylar's becoming more and more of an imposing figure with at least telekinesis, super hearing, freeze power, melting power, and whatever that flying/jumping/floating thing is.
Finally an episode with cool sh*te going on, and I'm not pissed off that I'm full of questions.
Hyperbole - THE BEST THING EVER
I really hope that the number of abilities Peter can hold is finite. Otherwise, he just becomes Superman by doing nothing but standing around other heroes. The fact that Sylar can do the same thing doesn't bother me as much, simply because he's the bad guy. They have to have something to fight, right?

A very interstesting show. Lots happening, like why couldn't the Hiatian guy stop the powers of Peter and/or Claude. I know that we have seen that before, like with Peter's brother, so it does seem like there is a limit to when he can stop powers but I feel it needs to be discussed more in the show.
I too think that Peter is getting a touch too powerful, while I like Sylar's character. This is partly because Sylar actually has to kill the person to obtain the power, while Peter just sorta gets it through some sort of absorption process. Maybe they will flow out of him after a certain time, or something quirky like that.
It definately seems like the building with the pigeons is important, just from the way the Mr. Bennet reacted when he saw the painting.
I really can't wait to find out what happends with that standoff in the house, it did sorta look like there might have been one more person who had powers present judging by the brief glimses given.

About the only thing I saw was Ted starting to burn the place down.

Interesting, when I saw the house burning, I assumed Claire's mom came back and started kicking ass. But you're right, Ted could easily do that if he got emotional.

If I recall correctly, the reason Peter is to explode is because he absorbs more power than he can handle, and since he has no control over what he wants to absorb he will eventually reach some sort of critical mass.

Actually, they don't really say that for sure. The working theory I have heard and agree with is that he gets close to Ted and can't control it.
Unfortunately, if I slash my wrist with my lightsaber it cauterizes instantly. - PurEvil on emo Star Wars plots.
Interesting thing to note: Peter isn't the only one who has trouble controlling his powers. Sylar gained a weakness as well as a strength with the super hearing. It's still possible that Sylar kills Ted.
Also a possibility that Peter's absorbtion can go a step further. He may be able to drain the powers completely out of someone, but doing so will make him reach 'critical mass'. Either Ted or Sylar is going nuclear and Peter absorbs their power entirely to gain a little time, even knowing he'd go nuclear eventually.
Hyperbole - THE BEST THING EVER
And I quote:
Mohinder: Peter's specific DNA allows for a blend. Like colors in a mosaic, resequencing itself to mimic the abilities of those around him.
Nathan: Like a chameleon.
Mohinder: More like a sponge. It's precisely why I've been studying him.
Nathan: Could his condition become dangerous, to himself or to other people?
Mohinder: If he absorbs too much or comes into contact with an unstable ability, then most definitely yes.
Ted's ability isn't unstable. He controls his emotionally as you can see when he gets upset. The dreams that Peter has isn't of him getting upset and going off, so it would seem to me it would be an implication of absorbing too much.

I just keep loving this show more every time I see it. I even got my 80 year old grandmother to watch it, which completely freaked my grandfather out.
I'm really interrested to see if Psychic Cop ends up on the 'bad' side with Nuclear Boy and Internet Woman. He seems to be going downhill: stealing, lying and now holding a family at gunpoint. Doesn't look good on his side.
It's also going to be interresting to see whether or not Sylar gets control of his hearing or if it'll be a downside to him. Also, has anyone thought whether or not Sylar can have infinite powers? Is there any limit of powers he can steal before he goes boom-boom or just fizzles out? Just thinking...

Just a thought, but remember that in Peter's vision, Isaac is dragging Simone away, leading us to believe that she's not really dead yet. Also, Ando is pictured, so if you follow the same logic, he's going to come back, too.
