I don't know if you guys have noticed, or maybe it's just me, but it feels like the whole game industry has stalled. They fail to attract my attention much any more. The "wow" seems to be gone.
If you're a pc-only guy then yeah, I could understand. Still, I have a mighty stack of games yet to be played for PS2/PSP/DS.
Well, I don't like to toot my own horn, but I'm a pretty good amateur rectal photographer. Would you like to see my portfolio?
Song of the Week: ...on Facebook...
It's a tiny window of opportunity to try out all the flashgames and indie/free games out there.
I also like to picture all the game developers snuggling into their offices in these cold winter months and staying warm by diligently coding the next great games for the Spring and Summer.

There's always a lull in the industry right after the holiday season. It's nothing to be concerned about. Consider this a chance to catch up on all the games you missed over the past few months.

I have to agree, games just don't bring the fun anymore. That's why I've switched to knitting.

There are not a lot of PC games coming down the pipe in the next few months that really strike my fancy, but console land is chock full of savory goodness.

I had to laugh with that. My mom bought me a Nifty Knitter for Christmas, and I've been using it lately to make hats and etc for the kids' Winter Camp. I've been bringing it to work because it keeps my hands busy in the lulls in team testing and I'm less tempted to tear the other developer into thumbnail-sized tattered shreds.
Not because I'd rather knit than play games, though...

Hey, don't diss the knitters. They can be a dangerous lot. I should know, my mom loom knits. Despite her lack of hooks, she can still be pretty dangerous with her spiky looms and the little tool she uses with them.

Stall? I might call it a little stagnant but no stall.... in fact my *to buy* list is getting longer by the day. Hopefully i can get a job that allows me to buy all the games i want.... or maybe i'll turn to rental.

I have a backlog of some 10 games. I welcome the post-holiday respite.

Did you know they won't let you in a government building with those little tools? I tried to take some knitting down to the courthouse when I got called to witness for a friend who's trying to adopt her foster kid. I had to take my knitting bag back out to the car.

There's pills for that. Or it's the post-Christmas January blahs. Things will look better in March, I promise. Who wants a hug?!

As far as gaming goes... maybe this is a good thing. Makes it easier to weed out the good games from the crappy ones.

Group hug!
But I agree, there's nothing but good games coming our way. But it is taking way too long for them to get here. Give me my new games now.

I've got an Xbox and 360 (sold the PS2). I plan on getting a Wii, and a PS3 when the price becomes more reasonable.
Maybe I'm just getting .... old. Just turned 36 today. that's ancient in gaming years. (my apologies to those of you 36 and older).
Exactly. I'm checking out F.E.A.R., Burning Crusade, that Star Trek game, and maybe some Bully in there.
