LOTR Beta Roll Call

If you're in the beta, please respect the NDA and don't discuss the game here. However, to help things along, I would like GWJ folks to find each other in the game. I know of a number of GWJ players on Brandywine, playing as humans. "Certis" "Lafrete" "Ceran" and "Torga" could all bring you into the Gamers With Jobs Kinship (guild), so just drop them a line!

Slightly off topic, but I signed up a week or so ago. Still haven't heard from them. If I do, I'll be sure to find you guys in game.

I just got an email saying I can play in the closed beta. I've got a human captain, level 11 I think, on Brandywine, named Shmed. I haven't don't anything group-y in the game yet so I'll try to find some people to hook up with when I get a chance to play.

If you ever cancel your $9.99 a month plan and then for some reason come back you pay the current monthly rate just fyi.
I think so but it really depends on what you are looking for in a game.
If you like to rad the quest text and follow a story this game is great. If you want to level and get loot I do not see it being better then WoW which has tons of cool loot.
If you want to do more dungeon crawl type things this game also seems lacking. While there are little instances where you go into a cave or a bandit hide out they do not compare to a WoW instance.
Now this is all from a level 16 perspective so maybe at level 40 there are also instances you can run over and over to get the cool item you want but so far that has not been a focus of the game and I see no evidence that it becomes the focus.
How about keeping this thread on topic and using one of the TWO places we have set aside for impressions.

I am thinking of not doing many more of these while still in beta. Since to me part of the draw is the story and while I am sure I would enjoy doing it again the first time is of course special.
Not made up my mind if I want to advance the Epic quest or just mess arround with crafting and some other stuff till 30 March.

It seems like from one of the screenshots that they put music instruments from AC2 in the game. If so that is really sweet. Finding and playing instruments was a neat little gimmick.

Actually it is slightly different.
You get an instrument then you actually get to play it like so.
Type /music
once you do that 1-8, Ctr 1-8 and Sft 1-8 all are musical notes you can make
play to your hearts content
Some people have made some nice sounding music but so far i just make noise.

Fair enough, and some later content I have so far skipped for the same reason.
Chp 11 is really fun though and I would like to do it again with my current character but I am threatening to outlevel book 1 as Chp 10 is now light blue to me.

I can't tonight (Friday). If you guys set something up for Saturday or Sunday I will work it into my schedule, though. Otherwise, you may see me online a bit, but it's tough to get too into it, knowing that my avatar is going to be wiped off the face of Middle Earth on March 30th.
