Battlestations: Midway -- "I shall return!"

Time:
01/22/2007 - 17:00 - 01/22/2007 - 20:01
Description:
Or will you? Download the demo and watch your six, because this game is different than anything you've played on a console. Eight-player co-op? Dogfights? Naval artillery standoffs? Torpedo bombing? Now you know why this is a team effort. I'm off Monday, so I'll be on most of the day. Let's say all you other poor saps show up around 5:00. We'll play until Gears Night at 8:00.

I played a little B:M (or is it BSM?) last night with BabaGanoush. It took me a little while to figure out this was a RTS game with an FPS component, and I still haven't figured out all the details of repairing ships. Certis was right about not being clear about controls.
The graphics are excellent.

With 4v4, this game has major potential to be loads of fun, especially with Fighterplane escorts for the Dive Bombers. Are there going to be B-29 bombers, etc. in the full version?

If I'm around Monday evening, I'll definitely be up for this!

What an unbearably bad attempt at a pun.

I saw B-17Gs in the movies, so this is an early war fairy tale, not a late war history piece.

I'd like to try it out as well. If anyone wants to do a round this weekend so I can get a handle on the controls that would be great

Wanderer and I played for an hour and a half and I still don't think I know what's going on. What I DO know, however, is that submarines can be mean

Jesus, how do you get subs to fire torpedos? Or dive? I could never figure that out. Oh, and I'd be up for one of these events if we do it later in the evening.

We shall grapple with the ineffable, and see if we may not eff it after all.

Any still playing this? I have it from Gamefly at the moment and would be interested in some online naval action.
