MLK Day Gears

Time:
01/15/2007 - 10:00 - 01/15/2007 - 23:45
Description:
Well, this weekend's Gears fiesta was certainly robust! Any interest in extending it into MLK Day, for those who don't have to work? I'll be online and looking to see if we can get a game together. I'll probably be on starting pretty early in the morning.

I'll be home afternoon/evening. I used to tell my bosses my dad was black, but this year I can't use that line!

Why, did you get a new dad or something?

And good one, Gumbie. When I think about the words you paraphrase from Dr. King...I think people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are not successors to his movement in any way, shape, or form.

Don't like what I'm saying, anyone? Show up and chainsaw me!

(in game, only, please)

Fedaykin, I am new to this forum, but I just had to comment on the quality of your writing. When I read it I must assume that you are from the finest stock. I bet your family are an incredible bunch. Cheers!

I'll be home around 6 PM EST. After that I'll be ready to do some chainsawing, so leave a spot open for me.

Or else.

Wish I had the day off too. I will be around for the chainsaws after work.

I'll be around after work. I call Cole.

Isn't that always the way? Cliche black man is first to die? Well not tonight! Tonight, in the name of tolerance and brotherhood, I will chainsaw your face before that happens!

Well, my momma is his momma too...I know some of you played with him this weekend, as well as my IRL friend Jagbrave.

It's 11:19am here, I've just woken up to near-freezing temperatures and constant rain. Looks like a good day to stay in and play Gears. I'll be on after I get something to eat.

Just had a couple great rounds with SkuBoi, stupidhaiku, Jagbrave and JoshuaSQ3. Josh had to leave to drive to Houston before the freezing rain hits, so I'm going to go run to the grocery store and then I'll be back on in a bit looking for more Gears.

Bah. I have been smacked down with the stomach flu. I could barely get up off the couch let alone hold a controller in my hand. I am feeling a bit better now but I don't think I have the energy to play tonight.

I've been dodging GoW since I got so frustrated with it when it first came out but I did have a lot of fun last night. Mostly because I didn't suck as much as usual! Tagging someone with a smoke grenade was totally Teh Lawl. I just need to learn that sometimes tapping A and diving behind cover is better than turning around and holding A to charge behind it.

Thanks for a good time, guys!

Glad you enjoyed yourself, Lobster. I didn't even realize you COULD tag someone with a smoke grenade! I mean, I knew you could when they were down, but...I thought that was like a Gears Fatality. Which, come to think of it, it is; Gears clearly features Kombat-style Fatalities, a connection that I haven't made until now.

Such great fatalities, too. Almost every curb stomp or chainsaw is accompanied by loud laughter from the dead (players).
