85's face the truth you're too dumb.

Royksopp is great stuff. I've been listening to a lot of Music One and Supafly Inc. I desperately need new electronic music.

I have not heard of a single name so far raised in this thread.
The only new band I've come across in The Bastard Fairies (whose whole album is available for legal d/l at their site,) and the punk band Goldfinger. Both are pretty cool, but neither is amazing.

Have you seen their E Talking video? Crazy clubbers and their designer drugs.

Good lord, Goldfinger had their biggest hit when I was in college, Morro! (which was a frighteningly long time ago)
Stuff I've played lately:
Old 97s
soundtrack to Jersey Boys (Franki Valli and the Four Seasons play)
Bun-B (thought I saw him in the Houston Galleria yesterday!)
and as always, mostly just shuffling the ol' iPod.

I've been listening to the Playdio.se and Digitally Imported trance/dance stations a lot, lately. Abuse of my bandwidth, hoooo..

Politely rude. Briskly vague. Firmly uninformative.
Live and Perl Jam the other day were big for me. A little Flaming Lips.
And always Social Distortion.

A lot of Rush and Tesla, lately. A bite of Cake tossed in, as well.
Respect! I haven't gotten on a good Bad Religion kick lately, but soon enough...

Here is what's been looping in my iPod lately. This Binary Universe is an absolutely incredible album, especially the 5.1 surround mixes you get with the retail version. Dragon Force is just a guilty pleasure album. Rough gritty guitar thrashing with a splash of 80s hair band nostalgia.
BT - This Binary Universe
Dropkick Murphys - Live on St. Patrick's Day
Dragon Force - Sonic Firestorm

Witchlight Cycle: Sithis of the Thelis'Thale Clan, Dragonborn Paladin of Moradin
Whatever Pandora tells me I should listen to!

Why is it that everyone listens to music I've never even heard of?
I suppose dejanzie has an excuse, but not the rest of you! Conform!
I've been listening to a lot of Adiemus lately. Karl Jenkins is great - although I don't like the newest Adiemus album. It's too much of a departure from previous goodness.

I just got Tom Waits - Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers, and Bastards. Good stuff if you are into Waits.

Soulwax and The Knife have to be the two best finds of 2006 for me. I can't get enough of "Any Minute Now", "Night Versions", "Deep Cuts", or "Silent Shout".
I know eh? Have you seen the video for "What Else Is There?" by Royksopp? Karin Dreijer (from The Knife) looks even more stunning, in a non-scary 80s too much makeup kinda way, than she does in the photo shoots for The Knife.

I do believe that I've officially crossed into the "old curmudgeon zone." I cannot find any music that's come out in at least a year, even from bands whose old stuff I still listen to, that I like.
Stuff I'm listening to:
Slipknot
Mudvayne
System of a Down
Staind
Deftones
Korn
Chevelle
Pushmonkey
Taproot
Prong
Sevendust

Thanks, dejanzie. I already have The Postal Service and DJ Shadow's Endtroducing album (he's from my hometown!). I'll give those others a try.

I'd like to add, "Feelin' Kinda Patton" by Patton Oswalt is freaking hilarious. Oh god, the Steakhouse bit. Oh god.
