Free transfers from Blackhand to Baelgun: Jan 4th through Jan 9th

Maybe we'll go from 500 person queues, to about 499.

I know the general concensus here is to stay put but... c'mon, let's do it! Queues SUXXORS! That said, I will bend to the will of the guild.

Im probably going to move at least half my characters.

I wasn't around for most of the first year on this server, so I can't make a comparison. But for most of my time on Blackhand, queues were a 20-30 minutes on Sunday problem.. Since 2.0, it's every frakking night and getting progressively worse.
Is this the only option or is there a chance it will level off again?
And echoing what Jeb said, I'm not going anywhere without the guild.

Woooo!
I'll miss the guild chatter, but I simply don't play enough to do much of anything with the guild, so it's time to move on. Miss ya all.

IMO, Blizzard should adopt some sort of guesting system where a character in a realm could invite a character in another realm over for a hours.
I think that would encourage folks to fill out the less populated realms and cut down on the congestion.

I started leveling a undead lock, just before the Great GWJ Horde Implosion. So I've transferred him off now since I never play him because of the queue.
Just FYI.

It will most likely be this way until at least 3-4 months after Burning Crusade is released. It is also likely we won't see it taper off until 6-8 months after Burning Crusade.

I know this sounds completely stupid given the queue situation, but I've been thinking about transferring my PvP characters TO Blackhand so I can help out the GWJ Horde side.
Do they allow transfers to Blackhand or would I be SOL?

I BELIEVE they allow transfers to Blackhand, Swat. They definitely used to.
I was about to suspend my account, but this makes me want to transfer it and then suspend it. Queues are a terrible, terrible evil.

Update: Interestingly, not that it really matters, but that's a Pacific Time Zone realm.
I'm still all for moving.

I'm going to see how this one goes as I'm seriously considering moving all my characters to a PST realm. I'm CST on a CST server, and the reality is most (groups/raids/random fun) happens during prime time (7-9pm). I, however, can't login until about 9 or so, so I miss most of it. By going PST, I'll be logging in just about the same time things are starting, or so the theory goes.
Also, if GWJ Alliance switches to a PST server, I'd totally pay to transfer my Alliance toons over from Malygos.
Edit: The fremen pointed out my water was being wasted on my brain. AKA, I wasn't making any sense.

Well nuts to my idea of transferring from Dalvengyr to Blackhand, it looks like transfers to Blackhand aren't allowed.

What does the BHA GWJ want to do? I have no wish to see us torn apart, yet I know folks are not happy about 500 person queues.

I know I haven't been around much lately, but I figured I'd chime in with a comment that adds nothing to the discussion. I will abide by the groups decision, if we decide to head over, I'll jump in. If not, I'm happy to stay put!

Move! Move! Move!
(take my vote with a grain of salt since I've been totally AWOL...sorry, friends, I do miss you!)

Not that it matters too much at this point, but way back in the day when Windrunner was heavily queued (about a year ago) Bliz offered free transfers to Rexxar. Sounded great but they had the same deal where 5-6 other heavily populated servers could transfer to Rexxar as well. End result: Windrunner queue went from 700-1000 peak to 300-400 and Rexxar had a 500-600 queue on the first day. At the time I was glad I only transferred 2 of my alts!
Fixed it Fed, it was a major typo/stupid error.

I guess this makes the 'so who's coming back' thread more relevant because they're probably the main folks we'd lose if they dont want to move. If we did move we'd cost a lot of returners $25 for transfers and many would likely decide not to bother. I think we'll lose more people moving than by not moving and the Queue will go down on Blackhand. I believe that's a matter of how much it will go down, and not IF it will go down.
I vote stay.

Well, we voted stay last time and we still suffered horrendous queues.
I voted to stay last time based on my EQ experience of the original server having the best of both worlds with a mature economy and drastically lower lag. Those who moved did get better lag but had to rebuild the economy.
This time, since WoW is a completely different animal, I vote move. Blackhand may have a mature economy but that is actually a drawback as there is serious price gouging on the AH for level 20-40 items. Also, weapon selection is piss poor.
I dont believe Blackhand's queues will go down. I think whatever void is left from moving will be filled by 2.0 and Burning Crusade resurgence. People seem diehard set on Blackhand and I think we could take advantage of 3 weeks of bliss on a new server.
But, like I said, I'm moving regardless.

I'll stick with the guild, but if we get a vote, I vote move.

I think it should be mentioned that about a year ago there was a free transfer from Blackhand to another server. The wait time to log in did not significantly change then. I am not sure it will now. What I want to know is the wait time on the servers they want us to bug out to....

It's the queue situation that has kept me from transferring to Blackhand. If GWJ Horde goes to a new, queue-less server, I'll likely pony up the $25 to move.
I have the same theory so there's yet another incentive.

I hope you all don't move - I just moved 2 60's to Blackhand for the up and coming BC expansion. So far I'm really enjoying Blackhand and those I've been playing with. The queues aren't as bad as Draenor's 1000+ so I'm staying put.
And I'll definitely be hanging around once the expansion hits.

Why not come with, ubiquity?

I'm not important in the big scheme of things, but I'll put it this way: I already paid to move to Blackhand to join up. I'm not resubscribing just to move characters, and I'm not paying for another move in the future. If I were currently subscribed, I'd be fine with the move though.
Just saying, and like I said, I'm not important in the big picture. Even when I am around I often can't easily make time for dungeons & the like.
I mostly hang for the guildchat and occasional group-ups (which are a total blast).
I understand the que is 0 right now, but what will it be after folks move?

I vote stay. It's not that I don't like change or love the queue, it's that I have other friends outside the guild that I wouldn't like to leave.
I suppose if the guild votes to move I'd have to follow, but I'd be a sad bunny.
That's a rhetorical question, right? There's no way to know, except that from what you said earlier, it sounds like not many people leave overpopulated realms when these opportunities appear - which would lead one to expect no queues on the new server.
Again, take my vote with a grain of salt...I just think it's crazy to be paying for queues, and now Blizzard is finally doing the right thing by giving us a way out of them.

We moved.. cya later Blackhand.. I certainly wont miss the 600 person queues that will likely go to 800 once Expansion hits..
