Getting slaughtered by them is fun and all but its time to get some Goodjers in! We'll be playing and we can trade some ships/crew too. Games allow 2-4 players and there's room for spectators too if we have more than 4.
I'll probably be setting up 40 or 60 point matches depending on what sort of fleet you guys can field. Ill make them standard matches so get your treasure runners ready!
For anyone on the fence: The minimum purchase to get playing online is really about 7$ You'll have ships and if you're lucky, crew that will match up. Thats enough to get a taste of the game and have some fun. To be competive you probably want 3 or 4 packs and spend some time in the trading lobby to get your ships and crew to line up. If you haven't played before you'll want to give yourself some time to get to know your cards and set up a 40pt fleet or two and a 60pt fleet if you can.
The time is set to 5pm PST, Sunday Jan 6th. Time is tentative. If anyone wants earlier or later, let me know.

I love to get in on this, I hope I can be free then. I have a $7 fleet, and have yet to use it
Time corrected to actually put the event on Sunday.
I'll show up around 5pm PST or earlier. On the main menu click Casual Games and select the 3rd lobby called Deserted Isle. If no one is there when you arrive, one or more of us might be in the fleet builder or a trade session which takes you out of the game lobby so hang out for a few minutes or come looking for me. My handle in game is 'ThePolypusher'.
Since DS only has a $7 fleet lets start with a 20pt game to give him a taste, then we can donate some junk ships so he can build a 40-60pt fleet. If anyone shows up late and you see the game is already started just click the red Watch button and you'll be able to observe and chat with us.
The games will be standard which means you can win EITHER by destroying all other ships, or capturing at least half the treasure, so don't neglect treasure running. 20pt games will probably just be a clusterf@#% in the middle of the map though

Definitely won't make it. I need to reformat tonight and I'm just getting started now. Maybe around 10 I'll be back and see if anyone is still playing. Great plan, though, poly, I hope I can get in on the next one!

Well it was fun despite the fact that it was just me and Hanta... and Hanta may have other things to say about his long string of 1's. I think he was spelling 'Kill Me' in Binary.

Hi guys. I downloaded the client for this game but cannot seem to get it to connect. Keep getting an error: "Connection Failure. It is possible the server is temporarily unreachable.."
I'm guessing it may be a firewall related issue, but I've tried messing around with that and no joy. Anyone else experience any problems like this or have any ideas?

Fixed the time and date. Im shooting for Sunday at 5 PST. If you'd like to be there a little earlier or later let me know. Im flexible since the Cowboys blew their chances last week.
Neuromancer: The game is quite cracklike in that it only takes about $7 (no tax) to be able to play, and a total of about $15-$30 to be competitive so I havent seen the game as much of a commitment. I think I spent $36 total and a lot of time in the trade lobby, and I've come out with every Spanish ship available and good spanish crew, and a lot of good miscellaneous other ships to play with. There's only the one set available to play with so there really aren't a whole lot of cards to drool over yet, which makes very little urge to buy any more until they release new sets, at least to me. So if you want to just buy a couple of packs you'll have more than enough to have some fun with the game.
If they had more decks already, the crackish nature would really shine, but with only a hundred or so cards out there right now, only the rare ships and the annoying rarity of common crew really drive you to want to get more packs.

The GWJ teamspeak server is gone, I believe Ventrillo and Skype are the new standard. Unfortunately for me, my internet connection is testing in the 56k range right now. My cable modem has been dropping like a stone in the evening, and it's getting worse. I'm going to have to do some yelling tomorrow.

I've set up a Pirates CSG channel on the Ventrilo server, and I'm downloading the client now... don't think I'll be playing tonight, but I'll check this game out sometime later this week...

We had a pretty good turnout this time so I'll go ahead and set this up for same time next week.
If those of you with new decks want to get together to trade and make your cards work together a little better (getting crew of the same nation as your ships really levels the playing field), let me know.
