Chill games for the original XBox?
So I'm enjoying my original XBox (or XBox 180 as I like to call it) and the one thing I'm missing is a more relaxing, chill game. People were talking about "go to" games the other day, I think, and that's what I'm talking about. On the PS2 for the longest time it was Katamari, Amplitude. When I get a 360 later this spring I'm sure that game will be Lumines. Obviously on the DS and GBA there were many games like that, mostly puzzlers or games like Electroplankton.
Are there any games like that on the original XBox? Something kind of different that's not sedate, necessarily, but just kind of chill to play. Something where you can get in a groove and where it's not necessarily as intense? I kind of get that way with sports games, so I'm enjoying playing them again with College Hoops. But I thought I'd ask if there was something I should be looking at. Other general XBox suggestions are welcome as well, but I'd like to find a game or two that's in this vein.

Jet Set Radio Future would fit into that segment nicely. You can freely explore the city getting tags and exploring all at your own pace. Other then that there really isn't much, Xbox was a pretty action centric platform and didn't see too many sedate games. I supposed Shenmue II can fit in there as it doesn't really ramp up until it's almost over.
My days of not taking you seriously have certainly come to a middle.

Forza Motorsport, if you like realistic racing. Project Gotham Racing 2, if you like to have more forgiving control of your cars. I can't think any XBox games that were very "chill" other than those two, every other game I loved on XBox involves shooting, slashing or blowing stuff up.

That's my impression too. And that's fine. I'm playing the XBox because I'm interested in playing things I haven't played before. I got Jet Set Radio Future when I bought it. So I have that. I'll look into one of the racing games.

I find golf to be very relaxing. You have option to play the legendary Links on your Xbox, and can probably get some other goodjers to play with you.

There's a kart-racing game called Crash Team Racing that is pretty mellow and a lot of fun. Simpsons Hit & Run is sort of a GTA/Jet Set Radio game. Lots of exploring at your own pace and discovering new things in the city locals.

I second Jet Set Radio Future. Great game, great music, very much a chill out and play sort of title.

Yeah, I understand. I was just curious. I know what I got myself into. If I all I ever play is Jet Set Radio Future and both KOTOR games, that will be fine. I didn't pay much for the XBox or the games. I think it's just kind of jarring to move to a system where there are NO games like that really. Whereas the PS2 had quite a few games and obviously the DS and GBA have their share.

DSG I found sexybeach..er DOA volleyball to be ultra relaxing.. the music is mellow, the settings are calming and it's basiclaly pong with digital boobies.

I play TopSpin 2, and find it relaxing (pong with pretty graphics). I turn off it's music, and usually listen to a book on CD while playing. So it's relaxing and can be educational without even realizing it. Can't beat that.
Down with "chill."

Hmmm... Good suggestions on DOA Volleyball and Top Spin Tennis. I'll have to think about those.
I'm also considering College Hoops 2k7, being someone who plays basketball. But I sometimes find sports games stressful. Fun, but kind of stress inducing, so I might shy away from that one and pick one of those two suggestions. Hmmm....

I recommend SSX 3 for a great Chill game. SSX On Tour is pretty good as well, but the soundtrack and levels in 3 are slightly superior. It's by no means a snowboard "simulator", more along the lines of Burnout on snow.
You can't do this!
