I downloaded this as well and immediately realized that I can't think of any possible situation when I would use the Wii to browse the web.

Like I said in the Wii impressions thread, it makes for a great YouTube browser. I'm a bit dissapointed that the video players at other websites (nbc.com, abc.com, gamevideos.com, etc) don't work, but hopefully that will get ironed out in the final release of the browser software.

Flash games suck, too.
The wiimote stops responding to mouse clicks pretty quickly, even though the app itself runs at a decent framerate.

According to everything I've read, the full release will come in like March, and will be free to download until June. As in, if you get it before that point, you'll never have to pay for it.
Don't know how much they're intending to sell it for once June comes and goes, though.

It appears to be pretty buggy as well. After extensive flash handling it starts to freak out. In this case, trial should probably read 'beta'. Much more of these shananigans and we may need to start a Wii haterade thread.

I'm not sure this isn't more of an 'Alpha' v. a 'Beta'. If they don't plan on having the full version out for another 3+ months, I'd say it probably has a good ways to go. The basic functioning is pretty solid, and they have plenty of time to get flash, java, etc working better.
In its current state it may proof useful, at least for me. If my wife is using the computer, I can at least surf here and there to check news, webmail, and sports scores, without hassling her to give me access. I also don't have cable, so it is nice to be at the TV and look on TV Guide for schedules as opposed to firing up the computer to check.
