December 11 - 15
Upon my triumphant return to The Week Ahead, or TWA as it's known behind the scenes, I had initially intended to give Game of the Week to Star Trek Legacy, but initial buzz has been all but inspiring, and besides who knows if they'll actually even get around to releasing it this week? And, I'm certainly not giving the nod to Blazing Angels for the PS3, which was a painfully average game on the 360, and presumably will carry on that stellar tradition as it tries to attract that thin market of PS3 owners that will lay down hard cash for anything to play on their new system. No, this week I will right a wrong instead, and recognizing that the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was never properly immortalized as Game of the Week for its Wii launch, I will give the nod to the Gamecube version due out this week.
On DVD this week, The Devil Wears Prada, Talladega Nights and World Trade Center make their debuts. Try not to get too excited. More here.

I have to call back the assassin now? Great, that's just wonderful Elysium. I had a perfect reason to off you and then you have to "right your wrong" as you say. What am I supposed to use this professional, highly-trained killer on?!
*scuffs dirt with his shoe*
Oogaba.
Another week... nothing for me.
...I'm glad.

I'm 14 hours in to Twilight Princess. The Twilight bits remind me an awful lot of Okami.
Still the best Zelda game ever though. The horse mounted fights are absolutely epic.

I'm looking forward to giving it a go when I pick up a Wii next year.
Nothing else really of interest this week for me.
Yeah, this is a much wanted week off from retail purchases.

The Twilight monster design, or what I've seen of it, made me say "Hey! The Ing!". Seems like the design was lifted almost wholesale from Prime 2.
Taken with salt, as I haven't played very much yet.
Anyone know if Elebits is supposed to be any good?

The PC version was in fact released last week and the lackluster buzz is very deserving.

"TWA" has more syllables than "The Week Ahead". You're just making busy-work.
Got any toast?
Star Trek : Legacy disappoints ... with intensity. I'm not saying it's no fun at all, but its reality is a dim shadow of its blinding potential.
Cool. I suppose Elysium had this all planned out... i mean it "feels" like a plot from a bond movie:
*Evil villain tries to bloster his site cred by having other people post - inflaming the populace... but then switching at the last minute so that people think he's great and vote him emperor of the world.*
I'm onto you!

On a side note, it is fitting that TP is voted game of the week for the GC version since it is the spiritual home of the game. Having it for the Wii is like having Ocarina of Time or Majora's mask for the GC....
Shame about the Star Trek game - was really looking forward to that one. Thanks for pointing it out guys i'll steer clear.

Super Swing Golf I will be picking up. Its golf, its korean/japanese and its supposedly DEEP so thats a winning combo. I'm going to wait on Elebits and see how it is reviewed. Probably a rental either way.
Like it will mesh Zen (anti-)thought and western existentialism? Sounds like one heck of a golf game!

I am hoping it is as I look forward to trading user-made Elebits levels online.
IGN reviews Elebits. Not too shabby. I will be picking it up.

"World Trade Center" should've been called "Buried Alive IV" and released as a USA Network movie. Seriously. For such an encompassing name, the film's scope is extremely narrow.

If anyone is curious as to what Super Swing Golf is like, its also called Albatross 18 and is a online golf MMO for PC. You can download it here : http://www.albatross18.com/season2/
Plays alot like Hot Shots Golf if your into that sort of thing.
If anybody is itching for a copy of Game Cube Twilight Princess, message me and I can probably snag one at cost for you. Chicagoland has not had the blight on copies that I've read about for at least Game Stops.

I feel that I could use a Wii and maybe 3 extra controllers w/ 'chucks. Want to hook me up?
Also, I am in search of a beautiful woman age 21-30 with an IQ over 135. She's also rich and digs me.
Really rich.

He doesn't appear to be a marketing plant but then again, there's that.
Hey, I don't think I'm anywhere near the front of the line for the Nintendo marketing plants around here.
(I grew up with a Master System for Bob's sake.)
