WoW-Question: Good UI-Addons?
Monday, November 13th, 2006 - 4:45am
Hi all,
a friend talked me into reactivating my WoW account after
being absent for over a year.
I'm currently playing without Addons and i noticed that a lot
of Mods made their way into the basic game while i was away.
But i still miss a few things and i want to reinstall some of those
features.
So whats currently considered the "best" all-inclusive
UI-Mod for WoW? I do no PvP or Raids, so i only need the
basic stuff.

Well Cosmos is a nice all encompassing one that is not really geared for raiding or PvP. Titan bar is just a small one that I used alot because it would break down my XP gained and tell me at the rate I was gaining XP it would take XX:XX:XX amount of time to level up.
If you are a caster of sorts that can decurse/or remove poison and such, there is a nice mod called Decursive that will make that so much easier. I am not a caster so I can not say for sure but it is a requirement for our casters to have, in our raids, so I guess it works.
If you go to Cursegaming.com they have a wide variety of mods for you to choose from and you can find all 3 that I have mentioned there as well.

I use Insomniax, which is a compilation of many many mods and works great for me. I know there are others like it. Go to cursegaming.com and try some out.
Highly recommended!

In my times (that lets me sound old
) Cosmos was considered "the best" Mod.
But i'll have a look at cursegaming.
Thanks for the advice.
bah go to http://www.insomniax.net/forum/ click on the current version thread and DL it directly from them!
also great place to check on bug fixes and other random issues (like it not playign well with some other mods somtimes)

I prefer wowinterface.com - or used to. And I really dislike the compilations, because I only ever seemed to need about a third to one half of what was in there.

I have 2 take back my recommendation for insomniax. I used it beofer when levelling, but since I reinstalled, I never went back to it. Last night in ZG, I couldn't see a damn thing, since there was so much crap on the screen and this and that buff and target popups floating around.
Back to stock.

<---uses discord unit frames takes forever to set up, but once you do, its awesome
if you also shrink your UI it makes things a little easier. I have max resolution 1920xwhatever I forget and the UI is like 66% of normal. The text in chat is small but at least when I zoom out I can see my character and everything for like 20 yards around me. I do have a high end laptop though that I can do that. But shrinking your UI is an option as well.
