It's confirmed that Micah is Forge-like and he also knows his mom is sometimes not his mom. Too bad he's not mature enough to know that sometimes people don't love eachother anymore and that you CAN hurt someone so much they hate instead of love eachother.

I saw on 9thwonders that Claire's dad becomes a 'regular' cast member instead of a 'guest star' as of the 11th episode. Go fig.

Is radioactive man the explosion Hiro witnessed? Some say there's a face in the painting of the explosion.

I am starting to find this genetic anomoly explaination is wearing a little thin. I mean, come on, a technopath, as a genetic anomoly? Sure, I'm no geneticist, so maybe i just don't know enough, or am assuming something i shouldn't, but it seems a bit stretched to me.

Don't get me wrong, I really do enjoy the show. Maybe i just need to suspend my disbelief and just go with it.

I thought "other" niki was quite interesting. How she is aware that she is not Niki. Also, that Micha knows she that is different from his mom. Do you suppose that he has known for a long time. he seems to be well aquainted with other niki. I think her name was Jessica?

Also, how awsome are Hiro and Ando. Too cute.

I think you've just gotta suspend that disbelief on this one. Genetic anomoly allows people to: fly, teleport, stop time, regenerate, etc...

All of these abilities are preposterous if you think about it.

Da, teen boys being bitten by radioactive spiders, a surf board that allows its user to fly all over the galaxy. Heroes is most definetly a comic book on TV, I don't think the creators every really clamed that "this all can happen".

From last night's episode we now know that BadNikki = Jessica.

Radioactive Man will have to be a villain, or at least a dupe, there is no way his power can be used for good.

His character seemed weak. I'm guessing he'll be a Sylar Snack.

Originally I thought Micah was going to build something, but with the introduction of this new guy I'm definitely leaning toward him going super nova.

zeegirl wrote:

I'm getting the idea that we're going to find out this is more than just random genetic anomlies. I think this is going to be the result of some kind of experiment done on these peoples' parents (or possibly the grandparents) and it has been passed down through a generation (or two) and mutated into what we're seeing now. Perhaps the current crop of "heroes" are what the experiment was really about and whoever did it has been tracking the generations hoping to find that it worked. (Kind of like Firestarter)

Badferret wrote:

Well, back in episode 2 we did see a dead guy who had been frozen solid (assumed to have been killed by Sylar) so he atleast has an opposite out there somewhere.

I'm wondering now if we're starting to see who's breaking up into the "good guys" and the "villains". Right at the end last night we saw a new symbol showing up on people. It was 2 lines, kind of like an = sign. Radioactive man had it and Psychic cop had it. We know Mystery Man and Claire's dad have something to do with the RNA symbol and it shows up on Jessica when she takes over Niki. So could the RNA symbol be for the villains and the = sign be the good guys? I think this also points toward all of this being the result of an experiment and that these people are somehow marked. Though how you get a nice, neat looking symbol to show up on skin genetically is beyond me.

C'mon, you're just not thinking. Microwave not handy? Worried about germs in your food? Want to create a border to Mexico that noone will want to cross? Radioactive Man can help!

But yeah, overall, his is a tough sell. When he's mentally stable he seems able to control it though. What chance is there that the explosion comes when Sylar tries to kill Radioactive Man to take his power? (By the way, he's not Sylar, FBI lady just assumed it was a Sylar kill because it was weird. It didn't look like the brain was stolen.)

I thought it was a pretty good episode, up until the Peter/Nathan scene in his apt. Which sucks, cause Peter finally came into his own when he gave his brother the alibi. I thought Nathan did manage to get the picture? And why would Peter randomly assume Nathan would lie? His brother is an ahole, but he's never lied to Peter that I know of.

Crap, you're right. I dunno then. It looks like they're definitely giving us the idea there's going to be 2 groups. Perhaps they're not necessarily "good" and "bad' but just 2 groups with differing goals/ideas. Or maybe Pyro and the Psychic Cop become the bad guys? Maybe the cop goes off the deep end between his wife cheating on him and the voices he can't control?

I think maybe it was just the mark left over from the machines that were used on them by horned rimmed glasses dad and mystery man. Not sure I'd classify it as two separate groups yet.

Perhaps the = group is first gen mutants (just discovered), and the RNA symbol are the children of mutants? Just a thought.

as nice as it is to know who's the good guy and who's the bad guy, am I the only one holding out that they go for a more morally ambiguous route? It's just that moral ambiguity is really the only way to keep the viewer caring after a certain point. Once you know who is the good guy and who is the bad guy, after a certain amount of time the good guy HAS to win, otherwise he's not so good. Moral ambiguity though, allows both sides to get wins, and for everyone to pick which characters they want to think are the good guys and which are the bad guys.

If you look at the = sign, they aren't even lines, they match the 2 horizonal lines on the RNA symbol. I think it's just that symbol in the process of forming. I figure the longer your powers have been active, the more that symbol fills in.

Good point.. that would make sense. Is Radioactive Man just getting fired up (get it? hah) now, though? I assumed he'd been putting off radiation for a while, atleast long enough to give his wife cancer and for her to die from it.

Good comments all around, and I think the two dash turning into the whole RNA symbol is the right call, though Glasses Dad might tattoo them depending on what stage of training/control they are in.

My one gripe with this episode was with the whole pacing with Peter/Nathan and the damn painting.

When last we saw Peter he was leaving Issac to go find the missing comic frame, but in last nights episode we learn that he can't find Sharron to get into the gallery so he just went home and went to sleep?

The boy is going to have to improve that work ethic if he hopes to save the world.

And, what was up with Nathan getting Linderman to send the painting back to the gallery, but then telling Peter he couldn't get it back.

Maybe that's just it. The Cheerleader will be the only one who can get close to radiation guy while he's doing his thing (and Peter if he's with her). There's no guarantee that even with time frozen that Hiro won't be affected by radiation.

Bull, I say!

Sylar? He just needs your love! ...(and brains)

But seriously - I would put Nathan as good, possibly even the "leader." He's an alpha male, getting influence politically. As soon as he (and Peter) realizes that there is a purpose for their powers, I think they will change. Nathan's a jackass, yeah, even arrogant, but hey, put Wolverine and Cyclops in the same room and neither would look too heroic.

I would not put Micah as "clearly good," either. Not after he spoke with Jessica, recognized her as Jessica, and still tried to bring her closer. If Jessica goes completely bad - Micah may just very well become her accomplice.

DL was set up by Jessica, obviously, saved some people despite being on the run.

Maybe Nathan was just testing his brother to see how crazy obsessed he was with it? It may seem weird that they both can fly, yet his older brother thinks he has gone off the deep end with the whole saving the world thing. I really don't know what to make of the whole painting thing.

Could it be he wants to use it as leverage to ensure that Peter doesn't blab to his wife?

That wouldn't really work since if Peter got desperate enogh he would just carry out on his threat to fly in front of the press.

I am so not getting why you all trust Nathan so much. He has lied to his brother on many an occasion. Lies constantly about flying. Told everyone that Peter tried to kill himself when he knew thayt wasn't true. Appearently crippled his wife and then cheats on her with the first avaliable woman. Gets painting and then once again lies to Peter about it. Man, i seriously dislike Nathan, he has BAD GUY written all over him.

I dont know if it was this episode or shiho's echoes, but I felt a bit let down. At the end of the show I found myself sitting there feeling that nothing had happened. We still know almost nothing about the characters we do have, and they still keep adding more. Very much lateral plot advancement, and I am afraid that the shows plot is getting to big to fit into any reasonable amount of time. Leave the long stories with uber character development to books...you cant compete with that medium, dont try.

This also might have something to do with Vanished coming back this week...that show is almost a polar opposite to Heroes as far as plot advancement goes.

What're you talking about? Micah just advanced. Nikki/Jessica just advanced (she let Jessica take over). Hiro and DL crossed paths. Radioactive Man isn't a coincidence with the Big Nuclear Kaboom they're trying to avoid.

I mean - c'mon, let's remember where RM went - to the government. I mean, the Heroes clearly aren't trying to fight foreign terrorists - that's a little too Twenty-Four, know what I mean?

I would lend a lot of credence to Hiro systematically running into each and every major character on the show. If there's anyone who brings them together, it's Hiro.

Notice how in previews for the next ep the dad's no longer "the face of evil."

Micah I was counting as new since his role moved into one that would obviously be more involved. Nikki let Jessica take over last week. RM, coincidence or not, is another new vector to explore....

I see where you are going with the Hiro thing, but that was actually my point...I just dont think this medium allows enough time for things to develop that slowly. It cant continue this way through the whole season...that was ep7 so I think its safe to say we are about halfway through (correct me if I am wrong). The sh*t has to hit the fan at some point, I just hope its not anti-climactic. My biggest fear is that you are right about RM, that stopping him from some suicidal destruction of New York will be the season finale, and that this plot point will have almost nothing to do with the over arching "save the cheerleader, save the world" theme.
