Has anyone picked this up yet. I'm sitting here at work day dreaming about kicking but with spiderman and I want to know if it is worth grabbing right after work.

I've got mine preordered. I haven't gotten a call whether or not its in, but once it gets to the end of the day, I will probably call EBStop and see if its in. My wife and I can't wait to do some dungeon crawling with the marvel heroes. So, are there alternate costumes for the heroes? I would love to get black costume spidey.

One thing I read is that each hero has 3 different costumes that will give different stats. Also, I believe that some characters costumes may be different characters. I think I remember reading somethign about one of THor's costumes being the skin for another character. I heard that there was 140 playable characters...speculation, or can someone confirm. That would be insane...

I do know if you go to the site for the game, there are a ton of empty circles for the additional characters you can unlock.

I just checked out the official site, it does say 140 characters to unlock.

I'm guessing its hack n slash. I can't imagine it being more then that. But, my wife loves those types of games, as do I. So, we will replay it several times.

I'm sure it will be hack and slash with a touch of RPG elements to it, in the same vein as the X-Men Legends games.

I only have one question: when you get a combo, does the announcer shout out "COMBO!!!" like in X-Men Legends?

Heavens, that got annoying quickly.

It's a sequel to Xmen Legends, only with more Marvel heroes. Friends have said those games are just like Diablo, you hack and slash your way around, loot drops and you get costumes and items to increase your power. You level and gain abilities, etc, and there are attacks that join with other heroes, so a special attack that only happens if the Fanastic Four are playing, or 2 Spideys are playing.

Sounds really cool. I'll rent and possibly buy.

We shall grapple with the ineffable, and see if we may not eff it after all.

I'm looking for a game to play with the wife myself, and I think this may be one we can get in to.

Is Xmen Legends 2 worth picking up? Does it do 360 compat?

Yeah, that is the main reason I am getting it, plus the online 4 player co-op should be pretty fun too. I'm just wondering if the two of us will be able to go online together with two other people. It will be interesting to see.

Another game that we had a blast playing together was SW Legos 2. That was a bunch of fun for the two of us.

It is hack and slash, though the combat is defintely deeper then your average diablo clone. You have a variety of special moves you can chain together for various combos, and with a nice variety of enemy types you need to keep on your toes and vary your attacks. Even better is that you can combine attacks of 2 or more characters to do special team attacks, like in XML2 you could get Juggernaut to toss Wolverine in a fastball special.

I EBStop didn't get MUA in yesterday, so I got a call last night from the pleasant automated lady saying it should be in today. My wife was a little bummed that she wouldn't get to play it last night, but we are ready to go tonight on it.

Actually I called, and they had it. So, I have started playing through the first level with my wife. They start you with Thor, Captain America, Spiderman, and Wolverine. Now, the copy I got had a code to unlock the Silver Surfer. But, I can't figure out where I'm supposed to put this code in.

Thanks for the tip. Now, I heard that if you use the code, then you won't get the achievement for unlocking the Silver Surfer afer you beat Galacticus. Is this true?

My problem with these games is that you level up to gain new abilities. Using the X-men games as an example, I didn't know that Storm 'forgot' most of her powers and had to relearn them over time. It just seemed weird that Storm or Cyclops had to punch more than blast people...

Looking at this one, I don't recall Dr. Strange doing a lot of hand to hand combat, and I'm not sure how Iron Man 'learns' more abilities.

I'm just going to assume the super heroes are all hungover and the more fresh air and exercise they get, the more things they remember.

Yeah, this game is a blast. I can't wait to put Spidey in the symbiote suit. Has anyone taken it online yet? It looks like when you play a campaign with someone, you actually get to save the online game, so that seems pretty cool. But, I wonder do you get to pull your leveled up characters out of the main game, or does everyone start with level 1 characters?

I also used to have this problem. I would love to have an superhero game where the superhero's abilities don't have to be limited for gameplay's sake, however, I'm a sucker for games with upgrades. The only game I can think of that kept the superhero's abilities in tact the entire game is Dr. Doom's Revenge (why hasn't this game been remade?).

Well I thought maybe I would type out some long ass impressions, but really all you need to know is I just spent 7 hours straight playing coop with my friend and the only reason we stopped was due to excessive fatigue.
