The title song is up on the Tenacious D website. The Pick of Destiny, their new movie, is opening on Nov 17th! The movie's website is fun, including the video section with their performance at Comicon and this special video For the Ladies

I saw the trailer for this when I went to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning on Friday. The Pick of Destiny looks like it'll be fun to watch.

I can't wait for this film, and hopefully the subsequent D U.S. tour that follows. Atleast a New D album will be coming out with this film.

awesome, loved their hbo stuff. I bought the compilation on a whim and man was it worth it! I didn't know they were doing a movie though. JB and KG rock
Based on their original album, I'm really looking forward to this. That first album saw a lot of play fom me.

I got to see them in concert in Indianapolis after their album came out, they opened for Kid Rock of all people (no matter what you think of Kid Rock he puts on one hell of a show). The D put on a great show, it was very minimalist, but Jack Blacks personality on stage filled up that arena all on its own.

So, the new D album, the soundtrack for the movie, is released today. Has anyone picked it up? If so let's hear about it. Also, the movie comes out next Friday, I can't wait.

I was disappointed to discover that even though the promo stuff floating around the intarweb lists 11/17 as release day, that's only a limited release. Doh! They're saying Wednesday, Nov. 22 for wide release, but that's one seriously sh*tty day to go see a movie.

It is f*cking awesome sauce. I just downloaded it from iTunes, heard 2/3rds and I gotta say it rocks.
There is a killer kids song about growing up with a Sasquash for a father called "Papgenu (He's My Sassafrass)" that is pure Beatles. There's a serious love song "Baby" with the best ending in the world. Or how bout this song "Classico" which chronicles the first moment JB and KG met, set to the tune of classical guitar...
KG plays some wicked guitar, and JB has matured but pelts some crazy howls.

The initial excitement has died down, I've gotten to listen to the album twice, and I still like it, a lot. This album has more studio polish on it, and isn't as raw and intimate as their last work, but it still rocks thanks to JB and KG's excellent musical skills. The first 2/3rds is wonderful, takes the D in slightly new directions without losing their edge. The last songs are classic 70s rock, reminded me of KISS, but not my favorite Tenacious D style. I also noticed a lot of F-bombs
