Apology
Please let me say, I don't create this thread to get attention, but I feel I must write this to those who've that I've offended.
I am afflicted with an ignorance of forum etiquette"…An etiquette not learned from reading a code of conduct, but from experience of which I have none. For that I am sorry. I am simply a gamer with a job. I've read hundreds of posts from this site over the years (yes years)"…laughing at the sharp wit of several members. I finally joined the fray a couple days ago, feeling too comfortable with you all"…and thought I'd throw in a couple topics for discussion. The topics took off like wildfire, with over a 100 posts in a day, which"…to me seems like a successful post. They were topics I felt that were in line with other topics of the past, such as:
• Man flags down cop and gets busted for pot
• Man attempts burglary wearing a thong.
• Walk the Plank: Those that are hitched
• Food, Sex, or Game
• The year of karaoke, sake and used panty vending machines
• Woman pleads guilty in fake penis case. (fixed it)
"…the list goes on and on. So when I was notified that my topics were out of line, I was puzzled a bit at first, because I've read much more "˜edgy' stuff here than my subjects. It all comes down to this, "A forum Noob shouldn't post topics like this, until he is an established member, and even then, tread lightly."
I didn't come here to harsh the mellow of this site. I joined because I liked the site and the people in it. Ya'll are good for a laugh. Your first impression of me is possibly irreparable, so with that said"…You don't need to ban me from the site, I will leave if ya'll want me too.
Sincerely,
WING

Just chill out and read the rules. This thread, btw, is a rules violation.

I had a similar experience when I sarted college. I tried to break in to a social circle by being purposefully "edgy" and actively tried to impress the pants off of everyone I met. I was acting like I had something to prove, and it backfired in a big way. I didn't fit in because I was trying so hard to fit in.
Paleo's got it right, just relax.

This is another mis-step. If you want to discuss forum moderation or what's ok to post, you should be sending a PM to myself or Elysium. Making a big, long post about how sorry you are just smacks of more attention whoring to me. I'd suggest you settle back and watch for a while, right now you're basically stumbling around in the dark and stepping on rakes.
This thread is locked.

Let people get to know you first, then post edgy topics (as long as they are within reason). If people don't understand your personality, and your typical intentions, chances are greater that your thread will be regarded in a negative way or misinterpreted.
BTW, three of those were news stories (Man flags down cop and gets busted for pot; Man attempts burglary wearing a thong; Woman pleads guilty in fake penis case.), one was extremely benign in both topic name and subject matter (Walk the Plank: Those that are hitched), one was only edgy/risky in the title (The year of karaoke, sake and used panty vending machines), and the last... well, I'll give that one to you.
One last note, "benefit of the doubt" is a currency earned by being a long-term and respectable member of the community. Right now, you have none and it takes time to earn it.
