Too Human in Trouble?
Thursday, September 28th, 2006 - 6:43pm
IGN is reporting that Too Human was not seen at the X06 conference and would only admit under direct questioning that it was delayed to Q1-Q2 2007.
Now, lots of Microsoft's 1st and 2nd party titles have slipped on their release dates. (Crackdown?) However, none but Too Human have gone under a media blackout. This suggests to me that there are more problems here than reported. Might this game be the next Psychonauts? (ie, a first party title dropped by Microsoft?) If Too Human is under the axe, I doubt Microsoft would admit it until after Christmas.
We shall grapple with the ineffable, and see if we may not eff it after all.

I haven't even gotten to the IGN story yet... I'm hung up on how intense your three question marks are.
Edit:
That's refreshing.
Judging from how great Eternal Darkness was, I'm willing to wait a bit for Too Human. The article doesn't really signal that the game is in trouble as much as the game just isn't ready. And I feel bad for the 3 people who actually thought Forza 2 would come out this year... hope they didn't get their hopes up too high.

I was initially really hoping for good things from this one, but all of the "Meh" style impressions from E3 eventually wore on my excitement. Maybe they're just trying to fix the things people thought were so bland at E3?
I hope so. The concepts behind the game sounded like they could have made for a great story and an awesome game.
I guess this answers the "Will Silicon Knights ever release a game on time?" question though.

Meh.
Nothing about this game ever really excited me except for the developer's pedigree. I certainly would love to give it a shot, but I wouldn't shed a tear if it never really saw the light of day.

All I know is that Too Human is a direct obstacle in the way of the next Eternal Darkness game. To hell with it, I say.

I've heard a lot of excuses from Silicon Knights, about the reactions to the E3 showing. Who knows if they're true. Either way, I think a media blackout is the right move. Don't show it until you can completely dispel any negative mindshare.
But yeah, I'm expecting to see Too Human sometime near the END of 2007.
"PEACE ON EARTH. GOOD WILL TO MEN. PUBLIC SHELTER. ADMISSION 50¢"
Actually what I got from SK is that they were not planning to show case anything at X06... at least in terms of Demo. Considering the reaction they got from the public regarding their E3 demo. So right now they just focusing on the game... and once they have something close to final product they will start the hype again.
Now, I really don't see what all the negativity towards the game was about. I though it looked great and personally can't wait for it! Besides, if the game does turn out to be bad... at least it will have an awesome soundtrack!

I guess the question I want to ask is:
When has Too Human not been in trouble?
Its changed platforms and suffered delays a few times.
I think its similar enough to Lost Planet that its legs may be cut out from under it even more.
Being fangoriously devoured by a gelatinous monster.
Bingo. Bring on the evil.

Considering it was a console Diablo-style games with guns and swords and robots, oh my! Don't forget co-op; and the games that the developer has made were a lot of fun. I'm disappointed. I hope the game comes out.

Could this be another next gen Duke Nukem debacle?
Lag used to be a lot worse back in the day. Hell, it took Jesus 3 days to respawn.

Nah, Silicon Knights actually ships games. They just never do it on time.

Too Human always looked less like Diablo and more like God of War to me.

I think Devil May Cry is more fitting by comparison... Heavenly Sword on the other hand is pretty much like God of War.

Heavenly Sword looks amazingly like a next-gen God Of War. Keyword being amazing.

It always kind of worries me when they make a game planning on a trilogy. It puts them in the mindset that they'll have two more chances, so they can leave out features. Or worse, that they'll hold back features so they have more to put in the next game.

It does seem like the wrong medium for it that kind of thinking.

Given Silicon Knights' record, I'd expect the 3rd game on Xbox 1080.
