Interesting story I noticed on Yahoo!news. A man witnessed both the Oklahoma Murrah bombing and the Trade Center attack:

Judge Richard L. Bohanon was in his office, a block away from the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, when a truck bomb exploded on April 19, 1995, killing 168 people. On Sept. 11, 2001, he was in New York on a temporary assignment in an office near the World Trade Center towers.

Robert Lincoln (Abe's Kid) was at every presidential assassination previous to the 20th century. Inviting him to your inaugiration was like tempting fate.

So this guy is cool too.

The Lincolns' sons were with them in the box? I thought only Mary Lincoln and some low-ranking officer were there (being too low-ranking to wriggle out of an invitation from the very unpopular Mary Lincoln)

He witnessed the death of his dad, if he witnessed the shooting he could have been in the audience somewhere. But I read that his son was invited to go to the theater and didn't attend.

*edit. here it is:

The night that his father was shot, Robert Lincoln was invited to accompany his parents to the theater. He declined. When President Garfield was shot in a Washington, D.C. train station in 1881, he was present at Garfield's invitation. When President William McKinley was shot in 1901 at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York, Lincoln was present at McKinley's invitation. Although Robert Lincoln was not an actual eyewitness to any of these assassinations, after McKinley's death, Lincoln let it be known that he wanted no further invitations from any US president. Three presidents had unknowingly invited him to be present at their assassinations. Interestingly enough, Robert Lincoln would not have been able to attend these events had not the brother of John Wilkes Booth saved his life years earlier.

So I'm a big thread derailer. Sorry I got the facts wrong, it's still good story time stuff though.

Your heart was in the right place, and your thought process was in the right direction. I won't usually tell people they're wrong.

I have a friend that was in NY on 9-11-01 and NOLA on 8-29-05. To top it all off, he was struck by lightening once.

Sometimes I have a hard time thinking about 9/11 and I only watched it on TV. I can't imagine actually witnessing that and Oklahoma.

Maybe it's the guy. He attracts that kind of stuff. Well, I sure as hell wouldn't want to live next to that guy.

I don't know. It depends on the size of the vortex that protects him. Maybe if you live right next door you're safe but 4 doors down it's goodbye Charlie.
