The Ship patched! Anyone still interested?
Apparently the developers have been busy... I highlighted what I think are the big ones, but this sounds like a huge patch. Is anyone interested in getting a night of sociopathy set aside for this again? Does that Linux fix mean that this could allow a dedicated server for this game?

I might be in if we can get a decent group together.

Because... well, why not?
I am definitely going to have a revisit to The Ship, if only to be immature and check out these "improvements".
Im game -- as it were.

Hopefully they fixed the game this time. I've never managed to play for more than 15 minutes without a hard lockup, and my system, while definitely not new, doesn't suck. Think it was sound-related... In my opinion, this is the worst twenty bucks I ever dropped.

I'll play. Jolly good.

I still play it from time to time but I sort of have to agree with Jeb's comments. The player population has plummetted in recent weeks and there are only 22 mostly-empty servers currently up for the game. I had a great time during the first month or so of play but the game was definately not worth the $20 price tag. I could see myself paying $10 for it and being satisfied with my purchase though. When you compare it to a very nicely done, free mod like The Hidden, it just really sticks out how bad of a purchase The Ship is at that $20 price point.
I still play it from time to time when I'm feeling burned out on Civ4 so look for me on XFire.

Fun game, some problems...I've definitely wondered about the value of the purchase, but I did have great fun playing on GWJ nights. I'm probably up for another shot sometime.

How did you miss bolding this?
I'd be in for some shanking action.

Mmmmm. Shank.

Only one shank or multiple types? I'd feel kind of cheated with just one kind when there's a multitude of different styles and materials out there.

Any chance of getting this on the calendar?

I'm definitely up for this too if other people are. I do enjoy the game, but it's much better playing with people you know.

Can I suggest Friday or Monday night? I'll get it on the calender if I get more than 2 people to show up and kill me....

Yes, you can put events on the calender. Post a new topic in the Games and Platforms forum, but choose the Events tab when you make the thread, and it'll give you all the options.
I only tell you this because I'm much to lazy to do it myself.

Ah. My lack of originality has deprived me of the need to ever create my own topic, let alone explore the mechanics of how to do so and what options are available. I'll go ahead and do this. First, though, does Edwin still have that server running? Otherwise, it's a pub crawl. Also, I'm going to a concert tonight so Monday is what I'll schedule it for if that's alright.
JUST PUZZLED YOUR ASS UP, SON! -Mr Crinkle
My esteemed rabbit:
While nothing would give me greater pleasure than to join you in a game of The Ship and both kill and be killed by you, I must ask that you not schedule it for a Friday, for that is a day on which I choose to attempt to have a life.
Utmost wishes,
Fed A. Kin, esq.

LIFE? You have a LIFE?
Monday than? I'm trying to avoid conflict. Say 7:34 PM eastern?

I forgot rabbit said he'd schedule. I retract what I said earlier and will allow him to do so, sucker. How about rounding it to 8pm eastern. And I'm with Fedaykin on the Friday thing. I already have to smack friends around because their guild schedules raids in WoW every night of the week. When raiding five nights already, is Friday night and Saturdy night necessary?
Edit: Added "sucker" because it amuses me to shirk responsibility and mock rabbit.
JUST PUZZLED YOUR ASS UP, SON! -Mr Crinkle
Okay, in all honesty, last Friday night I played WoW.
But I played it with my fiancee! Surely that counts for something?
