Now that the Killer B's (see below) have all (well almost all, again see below) reached the plateau of 60th level, we're eager to get into endgame raiding/instancing. And, as much as we'd like to run with the rest of you demigods on Wednesdays, we can't seem to get out of our offices and home, and spend our quality time with family to get online in time. So, we three are going to take our time getting home on Thursday, have dinner with our families and then start playing around 21:00 hours P.D.T. Would anyone like to join us? Not sure what we're going to do. Maybe UBRS, maybe Strath or Scholo, maybe Dire Maul--who knows, maybe even ZG! It definitely depends on who and how many show up.

We'd like to make this a regular thing for the benefit of West Coast time zone GWJ endgamers (or night owls wherever you are). First attempted launch of Thursday night instance/raid run will be this coming Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 21:00 P.D.T.

Who's coming with us?

-Bagman, 60th human priest
-Blastoff, 60th human warlock
-Beowoof, 59th human warrior

Bort's a nightowl... Even though I'm cental time, later night raids are always good for me. Maybe this time I'll even have a mic for vent.

I've got a lot going on with Pharmacy School orientation this week, but that all concludes Thursday during the day, so that night should be open for me.

Glad to hear Bort's available. And if you can get a mic for Ventrilo, all the better as we are plan to use the GWJ Ventrilo server on the "newt group" channel.

Now, we need 1 more for an instance, 6 more for a raid.

If it were a Friday or a Saturday, I would love to come run with you. But 11pm is too late for me to start on a school night. (2100 is 9pm, yes?) But, as a rule, I can usually run stuff from 9 - midnight cst, so I'll come help you guys if you ever need a stabby gnome.

I have wondered for some time what that "Newt Group" channel was all about, before realizing the other day that it was for Edgar Newt and homies.

Back in the day, we used to rate.

Seriously, the channel was started back when the Killer Bs were just getting up and running and we didn't want to be talking over the 60s that were raiding and doing the big stuff. We were still killing wolves, rats, etc with our level 6 gear.

So are y'all all friends IRL, or did you just start characters at the same time by happy coincidence, or what? It sounds like you all levelled from pre-teens to 60 together, which is pretty sweet. Indulge me with a cute story or two. ninja

Jayavarman (Beowoof) is the eldest. agsrfr1 (Blastoff) is second oldest. There is a third brother that doesn't play online games. And then there is me, Edgar Newt (Bagman), the youngest -- at 34 years of age.

As for stories...well, given that I have hooked them all on WOW, they call me the "crack dealer". Nice, huh?

What's wrong with the third brother?

Actually, I was hanging out in his backyard this past weekend. Was fortunate enough to feed his seven chickens by hand.

Online gaming just isn't his thing. Not that there is anything wrong with that . . . .

Yes, and he's a great cook, a physical therapist, and makes his own furniture, but he's married. Okay?

So, can we get back to the question at hand:

Does anybody want to instance with us Thursday?

I'll go with you guys. You're great, and we'll have a lot of fun.

Oh, wait, I'm one of the guys...

Beo - I'm really interested in hearing more about your other brother...j/k

I'll be on for this Thursday night. There's still a cloak that I need from a DM Tribute run. And there's a rare book drop there that leads to Quel'serrar. Hopefully we can also get some class books for some of you guys to get your Eldre'thalas trinket. Other than that there is a great selection of blues for every class. And a tribute run is pretty fast if you do it correctly.

... and Deepsea makes 5. I can be convinced to do a tribute run in DM. Eventually, I'll have to go there to complete the Dreadsteed quest (but I'm not ready yet). I need Felcloth, dropped by the Demons in DM East, so if the group think is DM, then after a tribute run, I'd like to head to the East wing.

YES!!! Five for the inaugural Thursday night bash. Our original idea was to come to a consensus by today, so we could all be at entrance tomorrow. So Diremaul?

Diremaul it is - we need to collect a few materials to complete a tribute run - I have some of it. Frost Oil, Rugged Leather, Some runecloth bolts, rune thread. I'll explain it to you guys when we get in group. The only thing we need that is a little harder to get is either a 300 lockpick rogue to open a door for us inside, or one of those high level blacksmithing keys.

And just so you know, the idea behind a tribute run is to NOT kill the guards. There are a few groups that you do kill inside but if you don't kill the big ogre guards inside you'll get more blue drops at the end after you drop King Gordok. That's what all the materials are for - you need them to complete some scripted events that allow you to bypass the guards.

And Blast, I just tanked the Dreadsteed quest for Warmagi from Kings Army the other day so i have an idea how it works.

Cool, I should be on tonight for a bit (after our ZG run). Are there things I can collect tonight (that you don't already have) that can speed the process on Thursday?

Deep, if you have time to put up a list of the number and types of items, we can go shopping tonight and all meet on the road outside of Diremaul in Feralas. I have several bolts of runecloth (do you know how many we need?), rune thread (again, precise numbers) and rugged leather (ditto). I will contribute what I can re: these things.

Can't help with the key or frost oil though. I'm a bit strapped for cash these days (it's hard to generate cash playing 1 time a week .

This sounds like fun. I can't wait to try out my new Seeds of Corruption spell.

.......................what? Oh, sorry, I was just thinking in expansion mode terms. I guess I will have to wait to try out that spell.

OK - there are three things that we need materials for.

The Frost Trap:
1 Frost Oil (I have this)
1 Thorium Widget (I have this)

The Gordok Ogre Suit:
4 Bolts of Runecloth
8 Rugged Leather (I have this)
2 Rune Thread
1 Ogre Tannin (you get this inside the instance)

The Upstairs Door:
You need 1 of the following:
A rogue with 300 level lockpicking skill
1 truesilver skeleton key (Blacksmiths)
1 Large Seaforium Charge (Engineers)

The biggest thing we need to solve is how we're going to open the upstairs door. If there's a rogue on that can join in the party to open it for us that would be great - otherwise we'll need to come up with one of the other two options.

I have the frost oil and the leather already. Nuka just made the Thorium Widget for me. We still need the thread, runecloth bolts, and the solution for upstairs.

I've got the runecloth and rune thread and will bring that. We need to get a key or seaforium charge. Maybe you can inquire tonight if anyone of the ToF folks can assist (rogue, key or charge)? How about any of our engineers?

Okay.... I feel bad about this... but I think I'm going to have to step out of the run tonight guys. My pharmacy school orientation, which has taken place over the last three days, ends today but the lack of sleep that it's caused has me about ready to pass out at any given time. So therefore, I think tonight is going to be a rather early night for me, sleep-wise. I would love to raid with you guys in the future at some point, because our Baron run was very fun, but I just have a feeling I'll be a little too far gone tonight to play. Sorry!

If you only need a truesliver key Bounced can make those. I may or may not have the mats. I'll have to check. I'll try to remember to make you a set of them at lunchtime.

I might be on tonight if you guys need a 5th. Rack is a rogue but doesn't have either her book or 300 in picking (level 55... so that might be too low anyway. I can also bring bounce I guess... unless you found someone else already or ya know I'm not on.

Well crap you do

That said Rackage has like 255 in Lock pick... since the truesliver key opens doors with a 200 lockpick required she MAY be able to open up the door.... Not sure. That won't help for the door outside only the one inside. I NEED to get her the outside key so I can do rogue runs in DM North asap! Rogues apparently can loot a book and a chest in stealth mode with little problem.
