So, I'm engaged now.

This weekend here in Boston, I popped the question to my girlfriend (AKA "my Korean GF" to longtime GWJ readers - new readers note that she's Korean-American. Well, born there, raised here. Anyways...), who did then agree to marry me. 
Almost immediately after doing so, she said "It's about time!"

Here's the best thing someone told me after I got engaged (OK, so it was for my training marriage, but its true for the real one too).
After you get married, all those parts of your brain that were worried about dating, looking cool, and getting laid, are all of the sudden freed up for much more important things.
The nature of these new things are up to you. Love. Work. Despair. Drinking. Gaming. Prayer. Whatever.
