Definitely a new direction, but a very interesting one. Can't wait to hear this one.

audioslave is one of the few bands to come out in the last 10 years that i can say i liked every track on their albums so far. i have a bit of an eclectic, hit-or-miss taste towards music but when you combine the tight, technique bound members of ratm, [rage against the machine] with cornells vocal style and preferances the end result is nothing short of astounding.
of course, i also still listen to ned's god fodder album so you may not wanna take my word for it.
A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.
How many male vocalists have done a Bond theme? Just Duran Duran that I can think of right now. Not exactly masculine company there.
Paul McCartney and Wings sang the best bond song ever (or perhaps tied with "The Spy Who Loved Me") "Live and Let Die".

Audioslave's Cornell? Have we forgotten the greatness that is Soundgarden?

I'm actually looking forward to a bond movie for once. Based on Layer Cake, I think it should be at least passable.
Well, I don't like to toot my own horn, but I'm a pretty good amateur rectal photographer. Would you like to see my portfolio?

Wasn't STP's "Suit That You Wear" recorded for a Bond movie (then cut)?

Don't forget Tom Jones sang Thunderball. One of my favorite Bond songs.
And the eclecticism that makes me love GWJ with a burning passion surfaces once again.

I know others have already said some of them, but here they are:
Tom Jones - Thunderball
Paul McCartney & Wings - Live and Let Die
Duran Duran - A View to a Kill
a-ha - The Living Daylights
Other than Cornell, that's it; four out of twenty. Read the whole list here.

Tom Jones! Squeeeeeeeeeee! *throws panties*
It's not that I want to, mind you, but I'm powerless against the Tomness of his Jones.
