It's called Portal. Announced at the same time as TF2. I think its best to just see the trailer.

Nifty. They took the one thing that I really thought was neat about the Prey demo and built a game around it. This is going to be in the bundle of Half-Life stuff they are going to release for the Xbox 360, right?

That. Rocks.

I just downloaded the trailer over at http://www.3dgamers.com/games/halflife2ep2/downloads/

This actually adds an interesting (to say the least) new gameplay element. Yeah, "Portals" have been done. But not like this. This is an evolution of what we've just seen in Prey.

Some pretty preposterous physics/portal puzzle possibilities there!

Awe. Some. Completely. Awesome.

Also, notice all the cool Depth of Field and Motion Blur stuff going on. If that's an accurate representation of what Ep 2 will look like... that looks politively next-gen. Almost on par with some of the Unreal 3 stuff we've seen.

Freeman is tasked with liberating Earth while Shepard is put to work in a lab testing a Portal device? Looks like he gets shafted yet again!

Seriously though, Portal looks very very cool. I'm defintely interested in a puzzle game based around Portals and in the first-person perspective with purty graphics to boot. Sold!

That was a flat-out amazing trailer. Not sure how long the portal puzzle thing will be entertaining v. annoying, though.

I have wanted a Loony Toons style shooter (complete with Portable Holes) ever since first seeing Who Framed Roger Rabbit in theaters. This game looks like a huge step in the right direction. How can Episode 2 have so much content crammed in? I love it, but it is crazy talk. 3 hours of HL2 goodness, Team Fortress and Portal: 20 bucks sounds like the deal of the century.

It better be more than that (like, at least twice more), and I don't care what they "give away" with it.

Portal is nice, TF 2 is nice, it's all well and nice, but I'd rather buy them separately and have a nice chunk of HL2, than buy a nip of HL2 because there is cool stuff in package with it...

That was amazing. Frankly, it's a little hard to believe, but I assume it works. It reminds me a little bit of when they claimed that in Quake, you'd run through a portal and get transported to a different (online) server. Not at all the same thing, except that what blows my mind is that the portal, instead of being a black hole like the aforementioned Looney Tunes, actually looks like it should - it shows you where you're going.

I fear the system requirements, but it looks great. I LOVED the direction of the trailer - the voice over, diagrams, etc. Reminded me ever so slightly of the manual from Fallout.

To me, it looks like they're compromising and making the system specs a little less important with some pretty basic level design. I don't think your rig will struggle to render all those grey walls with some occasional fire, leaving any extra system requirements that might be brought on by the portals pretty much negated.

At least that's what I'm hoping.

If it runs bad, maybe I'll just have to jump on the 360 version down the road whenever that sees release.

No need to fear. It will be on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well as the PC. (This makes me more happy than you can possibly imagine.)

It's the parts toward the end of the clip, that look all fancy, that worry me - both for the PC and the 360. Still, I have high hopes.

It doesn't look like they're trying to implement a game outside of the portal concept at all. It's all one big series of portal puzzles, right?

This reminds me of the video they released at E3 a year before HL2. It seems to me they weren't trying to show the game per se, but some of the game ideas to get you excited. Man, did it ever work...I'm as giddy as teenage boy who just got to touch breasts for the first time.
