I'll try to make it. Last time I played, Edwin had magic powers to avoid my blade three times in a row, then I blue screened (hard drive failure, not the game's fault). I owe Edwin at least one kill.

About a year and a half ago, I went to having a laptop as my main (only, except for my Media Center PC) computer to avoid just this issue. The performance isn't as good as if I'd spent the same amount of money on a desktop, but hey, you pays your money and you takes your choice...

(for the record I have a Dell 2.0 gHz with 256mb Nvidia GeForce Go 6600 - I think - a gig of RAM, and a 7200 RPM HD)

I have used that computer for BF2, WoW, The Ship, Magic Online, etc. When I'm out of town, I can keep playing. ninja

Laptop gaming might be an article in its own right. My laptop isn't too beefy - crap onboard graphics and 512 of ram being the biggest bottleneck. It plays WoW, Guild Wars, Flight Sim and obviously stuff like puzzle games, BrettSpielWelt and Magic Online just fine. beefy FPS games just kill it though. Source, BF2, UT, and Doom all tried with no success to speak of.

I may just have to pick this up tonight. I've been threatening myself with buying it, and I think I'm getting intimidated enough to do it. (At least, I will if my wife lets me off the hook for cleaning the house, which is not likely, as it's going on the market today...)

I bought my Laptop specifically to be my main computer and to play Doom 3 (which it did with good success). Lately I've had problems with movies and flash animation, but I hope I can fix that. Think I could run the Ship on that?

Wow, it's been so long since I gamed on that, I don't even remember the specs. I'll post that when I get home.

I did The Ship on my laptop with no problems. Don't know how yours compares, Bill, but if it ran Doom 3 I think it'll be fine.

The games fun, but there's a lot of time spent amusing yourself if you get knocked out early in the elimination games as they can go 15 minutes or longer. They really should plug in some mini-games for players to do once they've been "killed". For instance, making the pool table really playable or the dart boards in the bars (fun with physics) or checker boards or even out of character stuff like single player tetris or something.

See, without those distractions you have to amuse yourself. I generally spend that time hanging around booby traps and setting them off on unsuspecting people. Or I stalk the players still hunting and making them extremely paranoid. I'll randomly pull out weapons and run up to them and then walk away (assuming they didn't attack me). Actually, this is a good tactic too if someone is beating you on the scoreboard.. get them to kill you a couple times and the fines may put you ahead of them. Yes, I'm a bastard.

Oh.. and the flare gun combined with an elevator full of people is comedy gold. Especially when you get the flare in just as the door is closing.

Despite popular belief, if there is a fool in the woods, and nobody is around to hear his jibba jabba, Mr. T is still able to pity him.

Couldn't agree more about the mini-games, Vega. They really need to give you some more stuff to do while you are waiting. I think the easiest thing would be to have a casino on each ship. Very realistic and it would give you a way to earn some cash while you are waiting. Something simple like blackjack, slots, and hold 'em.

I also realised that I miss the voice implementation of Xbox live. I absolutely loved the proximity sound in Halo 2. It would be really nice to have that in games like this so that you could have conversations with someone in the room and not have to tell everyone on the ship.

I like the casino idea... Gives you a choice between collecting weapons, food, etc.. and doing something that could let you get a little cash to win. It does create a slightly annoying "you may be a better killer, but I hit 00 at roulette" problems
