July 10th - July 15th

A rarity this week. Pretty much every game to be released this week not only looks interesting, but could legitimately be called Game of the Week. Of course, that may have to do with the fact that only 3 games are being released, but really who's keeping score? While Prey, with a solid demo, and Chromehounds both look intriguing and bring some welcome new blood to the Xbox 360, I've got to peg The Ship as the Game of the Week. A primarily multiplayer game of hunt and murder set aboard a 1920's ocean-liner backdrop. Count me in!

Good thing there'll be something good to play, because unless you thought Basic Instinct 2 was a vastly underappreciated film, there's nothing new on DVD this week to get excited about. See the whole long sad list here.

PC:
Prey (07/10)
Ship, The (07/11)

XBOX360:
Prey (07/10)
Chromehounds (07/11)

Wow, 2 unique looking First Person Shooters (kinda loose on The Ship), both with online distro... This could be the first week where you can get all the PC games without ever leaving your chair.

Good choice on the game o teh week. Gotta say that Valve has been doing tremendous things for the independent gaming community.

We shall grapple with the ineffable, and see if we may not eff it after all.

The ship is actually 1920's cruise liner.

Ok, I've been gone for two weeks, so a little non-informed. Prey or Chromehounds or both?

Try the demos for each before you buy either. Both games will definitely make some people very happy, but neither will appeal to everybody. The Prey demo is readily available on the marketplace, but you have to be a bit sneaky to get ahold of the Chromehounds demo.

Also, if you are interested, our crazy long thread about the game is here.
