You think as I do.

I am hot for this game to rock. Modern 3D Diablo, make your own dungeons, sign me up.

We shall grapple with the ineffable, and see if we may not eff it after all.

soul, I have to agree with you on the Titan quest, I have been longing for a good Diablo replacement

poly, as far as I know it is not a 360 title. But I don't think it requires a mammoth of a PC to run, so you should try it.

Given my recent return to Diablo 2, downloading this is kind of a given.

I hope it's good.

Titan Quest is a 3D Diablo clone for the PC. It is set in Eygpt, very bright, and from the previews, it is very big and customizable. The tools for making maps will be available on launch, I guess. Don't know that much about the tools, except that they have generated good buzz on their own.

For good reason. Gametrailers has a movie of the world editor in action. Its looking pretty sweet. It kinda reminds me of a suped up Warcraft 3 editor where things like bridge alignment work. The eye candy is bumped up quite a bit from the blockiness if WC3.

The game is in ancient greece, egypt and china.

Just tried the hunter and earth skill trees. Lots of fun. Oh and the big fire golem pet is cool.

It is straight up diablo with maybe a hair less twitchy. The skill trees are well thought out and are going to be fun to explore and mix/match.

It plays really well, except that I dislike how few potions I seem to find..

I had real trouble staying alive anytime I came across a bunch of archer type baddies. So while it was great fun at first, it got irritating when the pigs along the road could gang up on me and kill me even though I'm smacking them around with a freaking fire enchanted axe that causes small explosions everytime I hit them with it.

And it's still cool, if only because it fills a much needed gap in the recent gaming releases.

hmmm I seem to have a easy time killing the groups What annoys me is that there is a noticable lag when you show the items on the ground.
The inventory is very small, so that I have to spend a lot of time teleporting back to towns to sell.
Cannot rotate camera
Don't seem to have a pick up all items on the ground button.

On the plus side, the game is very pretty, and the physics engine is put to good use. I thought the sound effects were well done, esp. for the items when they drop on the ground. I can actually make out what dropped (somewhat) depending on the sound it generated.

There is a lot of items in this game... I really hope they remedy the inventory problem. I'd hate to spend more time teleporting back to towns to drop stuff then fighting. (Did I mention that killing things is very satisfying because of the physics system? )

back to the game.

oh... I didn't get to the shaman yet. Got annoyed with constant teleporting back and quit the game for a bit to browse the official forum for some tips to remedy the problem

I just cleared a big camp of satyrs and harpies and some crows. Before that I finished the side quest of clearing the way for some medicine dude.

Managed to play through the first few quests. It's a strange mix -- the gameplay graphics, including the physics engine look beautiful. The GUI, on the other hand seems extremely dated to me. The latter doesn't really bother me all that much, but it can very jarring when you have to pull up your character screen.

This is officially on my "if I can find a few people to play with I'll buy it" list.

I played about an hour last night (seemed like longer and I think I'm nearly finished with it). I really, really like this game. Fundamentally, it's diablo. Then again, fundamentally, you can say Guild Wars is diablo. Then again, fundamentally, I love diablo.

It's purdy. It plays well. I like the setting. Intrigued.

I am loving it. It is finally a pure D2 clone. There have been a few other ones but nothing else has really managed to caputure the D2 feel so well. (I guess that isn't completely true - Fate was about perfect.)

This game however appears to just nail it. As someone who still plays D2 occassionally I think it is great to have a better looking version!

I'm playing @ 1600x1200 with a pretty beefy machine -- it's not that it isn't crisp but rather that the art level and text appear to be a step below the gameplay assets. Not that it has prevented me from investing about an hours worth of time into the game.

From time to time I've noticed that the Alt key refuses to show the item text, but other than that the game feels very stable and bug-free.

About the "alt" key thing, are you guys getting decreased frame rate, and flickering on the labels of the dropped items?
