Adding that I didn't find the Eredar and link the description on my own, though I had seen them a couple of weeks ago and thought they'd be fun to play. I got there from the official forums, dun dun DUN!

Eredar? As in Archimonde? If that were the case, then why not make the Dreadlords a horde race? That doesn't make sense within the lore they've established.

The answer is of course because horde kiddies wanted a "pretty race". So blood elves were born. Now Alliance needs a race.... Some alliance like the "evil look" and wanted to play that sort of a character... Opps on PVP server you can't be both horde and alliance... so this new race was born.

Oh I understand what they are doing. I'm just saying that considering what the Eredar are in the lore, this makes absolutely no sense. They're cosmic beings, not a "race" meant for the general population. They predate Azeroth. Do you remember how freaking big Archimonde was? An Eredar raid boss, I can understand. The idea of little Eredar n00bs jumping all over Hyjal doing what newbies do would irreversibly break the game in my mind.

I agree 100%. I'm not saying I like the choice. I think if its comfirmed it a bad one. It could well be the race you see in the swamp of sorrows. That'd make more sence.

I honestly don't think it will be Eredar. I think it will be some new race that formed when Archi was broken by the wisps. (I think I read this speculation on the wow forum too, omg... the cycle has begun, first I read the forums then...)
I could see them justify this, since it is plausible that during the final clash, when archi was destroyed, and wiped out the hyjal region. There were some Nightelves, that were still residing in the region, and was effected by the aftermath of the clash. perhaps they are effected by the demonic magic outburst that ensued and was mutated.

No, I pulled in the Eredar because the gamespy description also matches them, and is therefore not confirmation of anything sufficiently narrow to rule out any race.

Pft, all these people complaining about visuals are buh-tarded. Yeah yeah, we've all heard the "if I'm gonna stare at an ass for 100 hours, it has to be a hot girl's ass" type lines... pft. I'm totally just swimming in the style and not caring a lick about the fact that none of the people in my area are "pretty people". We're all kicking arse and beating the hell outta everything that shows up red or yellow... so who cares?
That said, I don't really know a lot of the lore except what I've learned about the Forsaken by playing thus far. I know the Night Elves lost some magic well... the gnomes lost their city... and that's about it. I know, I should read more... but I'm having too much fun playing to give a crap.

Having been an alliance char, I have to say that not all alliance players play alliance just so they can be around "pretty" people.
To many playing a human character is more "familiar" to them. I played a dwarf and gnome because I am short IRL and have always played shorter races in MMOs (EQ was the first)
And many also played alliance under the mistaken belief that the alliance is the good guy.
Now while horde side have less of the "I like my NE female's butt type" there are abundance of "I am a rad Undead" types. On top of that you get a lot of the "leet, all nonundead have crappy racial" power players.
So in my opinion, both side have people that make the game very much not fun, which is why having a guild or people that you know playing with you is so important.
Honestly, had I played on a GWJ server, I would have probably never quit the game.
Serious question, when the Expansion comes out, how many of you are willing to start out all over, on a new server? The RP servers are generaly more mature (hardcore RP wackos aside) and I'd be honored to be able to play with you guys.
