WoW - BRD - Blackhand
Sunday, April 23rd, 2006 - 8:45pm
My log is stuffed, stuffed I tell you, with Blackrock Depth Quests. Rumor has it that others find themselves in the same situation.
Let us venture forth, and whack things with great and passionate abandon, shall we?
What's a good time for everyone?
Peec and Duck available about 9pm CST most of the time, with a little warning. (Until I get serious about trying to figure out php so I can roll a shopping cart, which may suck the life out of me and I may never be seen again...)
So, distract me from doing something I wish I could afford to pay someone else to do, and take me dungeon crawling!

BRD is a VERY long instance, probably the longest 5 man in the game. I would pick 2-3-4 quests that are around the same areas and knock them out in one trip. Also BRD is the first instance that most people skip part or all of, I can tell you I have NEVER finished all the BRD quests in all my time playing.
Also even though you get BRD quests at 50-54, even with five 60s there are still some dangerous moments.
That said there are some fun parts in there and it also prepares you well for the harder stuff later. The main thing I see as a problem getting a run together is getting a healer, in guild we have Juturna and Fiddie for main healers, other than that it's all paladins.
If you guys want to pick a night I can give you two hours and be on from 10:00 to midnight EST. Also with Duc hitting 58 it's time to get him attuned so he can join us in MC on Saturdays.
Well if you need yourselves a hunter... Bort'll be happy to go. I've been down BRD quite a few times and am familiar with most if not all of the quests, and I still have like 5 to go. I'll be online a lot more for awhile now, so just send me a tell.

Yeah, the Gamespy guide is really great for this. We're still working our way through its "Run 1" quests, with some of them done, some not.
Top of our list:
Fineous Darkvire: Drops Ironfel for Shadowforge Key, is right after Incendius, geographically.
Angerforge and Arglemach: Drop info (notes) that Marshal Windsor wants; leads up to Jailbreak!
The bar quests: I think there's 2 to do _in_ the bar - Scribbly Screwspigot and the Thunderbrew one. Love Potion takes back seat.
So, anyone that needs any of Marshall Windsor's quests, Incendius, or the Shadowforge Key, queue up!
BTW, I really like BRD. So big. So much to do. It's almost like an entire outdoor zone, instanced.
Anyone that hasn't done BRD, go to Gamespy, check out the guides in their "WoW at Level 60" section, which should be linked on the front page, right column. Not only does it tell you what is available in BRD, but how and where to collect all 8 or 9 quests in there to prep for your run.
Yes, BRD will take at _least_ 3 runs to complete. Which is why we're taking a laid-back approach. We just want to go in and _try_ to get 1, maybe 2 quests done per run.
I've vowed not to start any new instances until I finish BRD, ST, and ZF, so if you want to see this pally in *BRS, ZG, or MC, it's not happening until I get the last bits of ST and ZF done along with all this BRD stuff.
(Incentive: The emperor drops good stuff, and although the Princess quest is broken for now, it's a really fun instance, even if I am not _quite_ enough healer for all the boss fights.)

Also, I'm already attuned.

I've been itching to get into BRD for a while now. Getting attuned along the way would be a nice bonus. About 45k away from dinging 59.
The question isn't "Who is going to let me?" It's "Who is going to stop me?"
So true.. the beauty of the small scale instance is that Blizzard can really go to town creating NPC's and all sorts of cool things inside.. BRD and UBRS/LBRS always felt to me like living breathing fortresses where the NPC's went about their lives..plotting and scheming..Sure there were a few "this is the boss room" areas but for the most part I felt that these instances were the best I've ever seen in terms of dungeon design and layout.
Much different than the 20/40 man raids which feel more like.. ok big room.. bosses henchmen.. and then boss..repeat....not sure if BlackWing Lair changes that from Molten Core.. and I havent peeped into AQ 40 yet..so perhaps thats different also..
Aint nothing new about the world order..it's been playing since the day they put George Washington on a quarter

I'll be glad to help 'most any night I'm on, provided we start before 10 EST or so. As most of you have probably noticed on Thursday nights lately, my performance plummets in direct proportion to how late it is... Dem chilluns is cutting into my sleep time.
And Duc: Thanks again for the help Saturday.

Hey guys - set a time and date and I'll try and make it. I have a test coming up next week so the weekend is probably a no go for me.
As always my services are available....Battlegrounds?...what battlegrounds? I am usually on every night except Mondays and Thursday's as I also have a bunch of BRD kicking to do. Maybe 2 5-mans is in order with all of the responces here tells me 2 groups are needed.
The key to victory is to not suck as bad as the other side.
We usually have enough for at _least_ one group, except the healing part. I need more practice, but I just can't do what a priest or druid can do. Or rather, I haven't learned to keep up as well.

Ok, let's try this: Wednesday, April 26. 9pm CST. (I'd start earlier, but I know we can't get the boy down reliably any earlier than that. By 9, we've usually run through the "I need to potty, I need a glass of water, I need a hug and a kiss", ritual 3 or 4 times, and the threats of instant death if he keeps that up have taken hold, and he's usually dozing off.
If we can make it on earlier, we'll try, but even best case, it wouldn't be before 8:30 on any given night.
So, let's shoot for Wednesday at 9pm CST.
Peec - Rogue (54-55...somewhere in there.) Loads o' DPS with current spec.
Duc - Paladin (57-59...something spooky) - primarily specced as heal-adin, but has plate, so that's nice.
Who else?

GRRRR... I never know what the hell to expect with my schedule as it is... but damn it, I'm gonna be there to help. My schedule is open that night and I've been dying to play some so I'm gonna pen it in right now. By the way, I've got 9 coffer keys on me for the quest that's down by Incendius and the guy that drops Ironfel.
So if you'll have me, I'm there.

I have 2 keys. One more and we can finish that quest, too.

I'll do my absolute best, Duc. Can't promise anything on any given day with my own kids being who they are, but I'll try.

I have one or two keys also. So, Yay!
Rom and Jeb, who/what are you playing, so I can update the list?

Bort, 60 Dwarf Hunter... Fat AND large.

That's 2 rogues, one hunter, one pally. We need plate or healing, don'tcha think? We've got tons o' DPS, but no way of healing damage if our only plate wearer is also the only healer.

Sorry Ducki's, don't think I can make it tonight. I have a presentation tomorrow that I need to work on.
I might be able to make it....Stormspain 60 pally

Storms would be very welcome. I could see if I have any Int gear in the bank and just plan on healing my Light-bringing butt off.

That would be, as the kids say, TeH R0xx0rs!

Hey guys, odds are really good I won't be able to make it tonight.
I'll still pop in if I possibly can, but don't hold a spot for me.
Sorry!

That was a good run, and Fineous Darkvire finally went down.
Next run, we need to return Ironfel to the statue for the Shadowforge Key, and multiple folks need Angerforge and Arglemach, Ribbly Screwspigot, Thunderbrew, and Love Potion.
Wheeeeeeeeee!
Thanks Tibbs, Bort, and Stormspain(sorry we kept you up!)!

Storm, thanks so much for staying up late to finish that last quest, that rocked. Hope you're feeling better. Thanks to Bort for staying up late, and Tibbs for playing after coming in from *Jordan* for goodness sake.
Good run. GWJ groups are the best, they really are.

No problemo, glad to help, I need angerforge and angerfire or whatever the two are named still, so once my surgery is over, and I up for it, will be glad to go again.
