I have faith in SplashDamage since they did Gameplay > Graphics already... so hopefully this should just be a graphical and features upgrade to ET.
They may have some balance and tweaking issues at first.. but hopefully in the end it will be very playable for a long time like ET.
I'm 100% ressurecting the GWJ Server for this.... with some decent bandwidth this time.

Can someone describe the merits of SplashDamage to me? I haven't played any of their games. I just see the Quake and id brands, and I immediately think of that Same Ol' Song, playing over and over, til the end of time.... I want to have faith but they've just about beaten it outta me.

Does anyone else think 'Snake Eater' when looking at the new shots? The game looks better with each passing day, and i'm defintely confident that Splash Damage will deliver. I had loads fun with ET for at least a year straight. The same can't be said of Return TO Castle Wolfenstein, the game which ET was based off of.

Carmack has an interview in the newest CGW where he says he implemented a new technique he calls "Megatexture" that elminates the need to repeat textures in this game. I'm interested to see how this looks in action it is one of the things that I notice is still lacking in games these days especially in outdoor scenes.

Oh Good Lord, I hope not. I am not up for point whoring in yet another game. I want the mods and the custom maps and all the other crap that comes with a good tactical FPS without the stat tracking and unlock crap.
