Forgive me if this is in bad form, but i'm at my wits end...

I've scoured and tried every fix on the Oblivion site so I thought I'd turn to people I know and trust.

They couldnt help me, so now I'm here...just kidding.

I looked on the forums bub didnt see any reference to this, or the thread title wasn't obvious.

Anyways, it seems to be random, but once I was out of the sewers and into open air these crashes started happening.
Just walking around, or running and all of a sudden, boom, CTD with the error that Oblivion has encountered an error...the standard one that has been posted a million times on the official forums.
it is so convoluted there it's hard to make heads or tails of if anyone knows what's going on there and there seems to be som many 'fixes' it's mind boggling.

my specs are
AMD2.4
1.5 G ram
cant remember what mobo i am using, I believe it's an Asus somethingorother
all in wonder 800x 256

If anyone has seen this nd has a wonderful fix for it, i'd be wiling to try anything.
I've already done the defrag, turned sound off, updated vid drivers,
short of doing a rebuild of my system, i've tried everything i found on the forums...
help if you can, or point me to a thread that already solved the issue.
