I've always enjoyed X-Play myself, but I think anyone can really knock one out of the park when reviewing a game where the main enemy is called the khaak. I'm pretty sure the dev team for the X series aren't native anglophones, but I still want to know how that ever made it past the US publisher.
Most characters in the game pronounce it like it rhymes with Sack
I think only the annoying voiced intro chick rhymed it with Sock

I love X-Play. It's the only show I watch on G4/TechTV.
It's funny, not afraid to make fun of itself, AND the reviews are actually pretty accurate for my tastes. All the gaming sites out there gave Perfect Dark Zero atleast 80%, but they gave it what it deserved: a 3 out of 5.
Yet even then we ran like the wind,

Wow. I own the game, and I didn't even think of the dirty joke. Normally I can take the cleanest things and make them really dirty. X-play rules. A very accurate review that made me laugh my ass off at the same time.
It's hit and miss for me. There's a difference between being witty and humorous, and just flinging feces for effect, which are the only two ways X-Play knows how to tell jokes.

Well, it seems like that sometimes. I find myself wishing their scale went to 10 (or maybe to 11?) just so they could mix things up a bit more. It's strange in that sometimes the review will sound fairly positive and sometimes they'll trash the thing but either way it usually ends up 3 out of 5.
I do agree it's the only thing that is watchable on G4, though.
It's the only thing watchable on G4 because it's the last thing left from TechTV.
G4 sucks every vulger and discusting thing you could possibly name. Their rape and pillage strategy destroyed one of the best TV stations I can remember. (okay, must relax, woosa)

I dont watch them regularly (and by that I mean never) but I did catch their review of a PSP game based on defusing a bomb. It was nice to see reveiwers really rip a game for wasting everyone's time and money. There's no way anyone saw that review and then went out to buy the game.
It might sting, but for the most part, if you're working on a bad project that's going to be as popular as a turd in a punchbowl, you pretty much know it.
