Version 2: What games have YOU bought this year?

Considering there have been quite a few good titles to come out in the past couple of months I think it's a good time to check up on everyone's purchasing habits since the New Year.

My purchases so far:

- A new copy of WoW since I lost my first one somehow in the reshuffle of my room I did last week.
- Half-Life 2: Game of the Year Limited Edition since it came with Half-Life Source, and I like special graphical upgrades on already great games.
- Final Fantasy X. I've never owned the game but I almost beat it to completion once due to a friend lending it to me. I saw it at Best Buy and instantly grabbed it for a good ol' $20 brand new.

Also, I'm thinking about buying a DS. I was never into the whole "Touching is Good" thing, but I've been told that there are a lot of great games out for it that you don't have to inappropriately touch. Either that, or the Mother 3 edition of the GBA Micro. I like how it's small and the picture is clearer.

Oh so hard to choose.

Yet even then we ran like the wind,
whilst our laughter echoed under cerulean skies...

This year is all Microsoft... since I manage to get Xbox 360 that is the only thing I've been playing.

Xbox 360:
Burnout: Revenge
Call of Duty 2
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Dead or Alive 4
Elder Scroll 4: Oblivion
Ghost Recon: Advance Warfighter
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Perfect Dark Zero
Project Gothan Racing 3
Quake 4 (2)

Xbox:
Black - It may be lack on features and may be a bit repetitive. I like it.

xLive:
Bejeweled 2
Marble Blast Ultra
Zuma
Geometry Wars
Wik: Fable of Souls
Feeding Frenzy

Yep, nothing else...

Like Nei, my purchases have all benefited Microsoft in one way or another:

XBOX 360:

Full Auto
Burnout Revenge
G.R.A.W.
Oblivion

My next few purchases will likely be along the same lines with Far Cry Instincts: Predator and Battlefield 2 being very likely purchases.

well, it predates the new year by a bit, because I started on christmas, but I dropped about $1500 on a new PC, so I could play BF2...

so,
Battlefield 2
Battlefield 2: Special Forces
Quake 4
F.E.A.R.
Age of Empires 3
(I was catching up on all the sh*t my old PC couldn't run)
Battle for Middle Earth 2
Star Wars: Empire at War (for my son)
The Godfather
Oblivion

yeah, that's it.

WoW has been the dominant gaming in my life since I bought it last summer. I bought some cheap ones when they dropped but I've spent little quality time with them. New buys for the PS2 include Star Wars Ep 3, Lego Star Wars (for my 4 year old gamer in training), God of War, MK Deception, MK Shaolin Monks. Lots of gaming goodness but I just can't pull myself away from WoW. The only other one from last year I play is Guitar Hero. Best rhythm game and accessory ever.

I am sorry to say that I haven't directly bought any new games this year. I got a copy of Quake 4 with the new video card I bought, does that count?

I might succumb to the hype machine and buy Oblivion.

Metroid Prime Hunters
Mario and Luigi Partners in Time

XBOX:
Half-Life 2
Cold Fear
Stubbs the Zombie

I think that's it. A mere 7 in 4 months. It's been kind of a DS themed year for me.

Same here, bought those not too long ago. Aside from that, I recently purchased 'Chibi Robo' for the Cube, 'Oblivion' for the PC, 'Sly 2' for the PS2. My wife picked up 'Tetris DS' for her system, but you could say we added that to our library anyway.

Ok, so with all the DS games being bought.. is it worth buying? *points to his above original dilemma vs. the Micro*

Absolutely. I've bought more games for my DS since I've had it than I ever bought for any other system in the same amount of time. That, and I had to get my wife one since she loved playing games on it so much. Well, that, and we can now play strip Mario Kart.
